RationaleColour and Font- I will be keeping a consistent colour scheme throughout the pages of my website. I will use plainer colours so the website does not look confusing and the text is easy to read. The pages will become more colourful when the images are added. However, the main colour scheme will be black,white and elements of autumnal colours such as dark red to link to the magazine house style. The dark red will connote the autumn theme. The black and white give the website a minimalistic theme which links to the classy fashion genre of the magazine. This will create a recognisable brand identity for the company using the same colour scheme as the magazine. Using the same font as the masthead for the titles will also link to the brand identity. The text for my articles will always be black and in a simple font in order to make it clear and easy to read. Images- I will be using a range of different images in my website. For my home page, I will include feature images from the feature article of my magazine, most likely the dominant image of my double page spread or the front cover image to link the articles in my magazine with my website. Showing my feature article on my the homepage suggests to the audience this is the main article of interest. For my first hyperlinked page, I will include a scroll bar of images which link to hair and beauty. These will be close up images ensuring the models hair and make-up is emphasised. I have decided to look at tutorials of subtle fall make-up in order to make my model look natural linking to the season. It will also be more visually appealing to have soft make-up as this will work better with the lights in the studio for my indoor shoot as harsh lighting often makes heavy make-up stand out and look unappealing. For my second hyperlinked page this will include images of beauty products and maybe a long shot image of my model wearing an outfit- both of which will link to the competitions of winning the products and outfit. For my website I will use images from my outdoor photo-shoot which will emphasis the autumn theme as my photos will include elements of nature and woodlands. These images will stand out well due to the natural outdoor colours. The majority of my images will involve the model looking directly into the camera to create a direct mode of address. I may use the images of the model with a direct mode of address and a friendly facial expression on my home page to draw the reader in and encourage them to continue to explore the website. I will most likely use more dramatic images of an indirect mode of address on the hyperlinked pages of my website.

Text- In my articles,I will use devices within my writing to connect and relate to the audiences speech. For example, I will use teenager vernacular, colloquialisms and regional dialect. This will relate to the speech of North East teenagers and they are more likely to understand and relate to the article on a personal level. I will also use first person pronouns such as ‘you’ to speak directly to the reader to make them feel a sense of belonging when reading the magazine. If the reader feels they are part of the magazine they will feel more inclined to regularly purchase it and take a further interest in the magazine. My main article will revolve around the life of a young beauty blogger. Making my main article about a young female will help the reader connect more to the article and understand the celebrity as they are around the same age and gender therefore they will have similar interests and similar problems. For example, in my article my celebrity will discuss the struggles of copying financially as a teenager. Due to my target audience receiving a low income, they will be able to connect with this. They will also connect to the beauty bloggers interest in fashion and beauty which links to the genre of the magazine and the typical interests of young people. The use of punctuation within text on my website will also contribute to my audience feeling a sense of excitement and motivation when reading parts of the website. Making the text sound exciting will influence the audiences mood toward the magazine; using exclamatory statements will contribute to this. Layout- After looking into inspirational websites I have established the general layout of a fashion website. I will ensure I create my website layout based around typical conventions of a webpage. This includes involving hyperlinks, headings, contact details, sign in options, a search bar etc. I will ensure my webpage is organised and not scattered about as it is important the audience can navigate easily around the site without confusion. My articles will be separated into small paragraphs with images around it to make sure the information is in easily readable small paragraphs rather than large chunks of text which the reader will lose interest in. To keep the readers attention the text must be easy to consume and include a range of images.
