1. Freaks and Geeks1 Season, 18 EpisodesAvailable On: NetflixLimited to one season, 1999’s Freaks and Geeks is now a cult classic because of its all-star cast (Seth Rogen and the like). However, the reason this show is worth watching is its hilarious, not-so-uber-famous actors.

2. Lost6 Seasons, 118 EpisodesAvailable On: HuluThis bingeworthy show will have you constantly asking, “What the heck is going on?” A passenger plane crashes, stranding the survivors on a remote island. As they wait to get rescued, they realize the island is not what it seems. The series is a cross between Cast Away, Survivor and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

3. Godless1 Season, 7 EpisodesAvailable On: NetflixGodless is a classic Western miniseries that has desperados, chases, gunfights and an ex-outlaw trying to redeem himself. The cast includes actors who portrayed arguably some of the best characters on TV in the last few years — Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary in Downton Abbey) and Merritt Wever (Zoey in Nurse Jackie).

Santa Clarita Diet Season 2 Launched March 23Picking up where the first season left off, Season 2 finds Joel (Timothy Olyphant) and Sheila (Drew Barrymore) Hammond trying to adapt to Sheila’s now-advanced undead state, even though she’s desperately trying to hold on to her suburban lifestyle and not be defined as just another monster. Joel McHale and Maggie Lawson are among the guest stars this season, playing a couple who are a “more successful, more aggressive” version of the Hammonds.

The Week Of Available April 27

Adam Sandler and Chris Rock star as flustered fathers of a bride and groom, respectively, in this wedding comedy cowritten by Sandler and Robert Smigel (a.k.a. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog), and directed by Smigel. Rachel Dratch and Steve Buscemi also star.

NETFLIX NEWS■ Production on the sixth and final season of House of Cards resumed Jan. 31, with Oscar-nominated actors Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear joining the cast of the drama, which is now headlined by Robin Wright.

■ Kiernan Shipka (Mad Men, Feud: Bette and Joan) has been cast as Archie Comics’ character Sabrina the Teenage Witch in Netflix’s as-yet-untitled reimagining of the graphic novel The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The series is described as a “darker, more macabre version of Sabrina” and as being “tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist,” with Sabrina struggling to reconcile her half-witch, half-mortal nature while standing against evil forces.

■ First it was Shonda Rhimes, and now another big name among linear TV producers is moving over to the Netflix family. Ryan Murphy (American Crime Story, American Horror Story) has entered into a multiyear deal with the streaming service to produce new series and films exclusively at Netflix. The deal begins July 1. Murphy’s two previously announced upcoming new series, The Politician and Ratched, based on the Nurse Ratched character in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, will premiere globally on Netflix. Murphy will still oversee production on his FX series (the two aforementioned anthology series, as well as Feud and the forthcoming Pose) and his FOX series 9-1-1, which will all remain at their respective networks.

The Dangerous Book for Boys (Amazon Original)Now Streaming

When the untimely passing of family patriarch Patrick (Chris Diamantopoulos) leaves the McKenna family reeling, hope appears in the form of a book called The Dangerous Book for Boys that Patrick created as a handbook for his three sons. The book is a how-to guide for childhood that inspires fantasies in his youngest son, Wyatt (Gabriel Bateman). While in his fantasy world, Wyatt reconnects with his father and learns life skills that help him navigate the real world. Diamantopoulos also plays the role of Terry, Patrick’s twin brother, alongside Erinn Hayes, Drew Powell, Kyan Zielinski and Swoosie Kurtz. The series is inspired by Conn and Hal Iggulden’s beloved book of the same name.
