Allinson’s Photography was established in 1989 by leading professional Newcastle upon Tyne photographer Bruce Allinson.

While still working for one of the UK’s foremost commercial Photographic Studios shooting ads & brochures for the likes of Flymo & Berghaus, etc. Allinson’s Photography was established to deliver the same high level of skill and experience to Wedding Photography customers in the North East and across the UK.

Within 12 months Allinson’s Photography became a popular full time business providing an exciting mix of photography skills delivering the highest professional standards for both social and commercial clients.

Decades later this creativity, skill and experience continues to develop an provides the very best in Wedding Photography to delighted couples in the North East and across the United Kingdom.

Wedding Photography often cost as much as you can possibly afford. So, no matter what your budget it can seam expensive. Often expensive services come with a lot of “sales speak” to convince us to spend. You already know its “your special day” and how important it is etc. So, I wont ramble about it here, lets get down to the basics. I’d like to offer you my decades of experience in this service industry in I hope that it is helpful to you no matter who you choose to photograph your wedding.

How do you identify a photography service that are the best quality and best value for your budget?

I’d like you to keep sight of the basic requirements when it comes to the delivery of professional photography.

Do not get hung up on what equipment is being used. The camera; is little more than a “box” with light sensitive material at one end (film or digital sensor) and a lens at the other. Good cameras

Photographydon’t make good photographs, good photographers do! Only a photographer can see and compose a good photograph, no camera can do this. The lighting; from reflectors to large pro flash heads, by all means let a photographer explain their preference in lighting. However, expensive flash heads don’t take good photographs, I often use them but any good photographer understands light and how to manipulate and control whatever light is available. This is what makes professional photographs.

Having established that you need to buy into the skills and experience of an individual, let us look at the skills.

Controlling and use of composition, lighting and focus are the key skills of any photographer. This is achieved through an understanding of equipment, surroundings and subject.

Combine these skills with creativity and experience needed for the best compositions then you have what you need for the best in both formal wedding portraiture and a reportage style of natural looking photography.

Formal Wedding PortraitsI still shoot formal wedding portraits and group shots everyone has come to expect and they continue to deliver the best formal record of key events in any wedding day story.

Reportage PhotographyI have been provided “Reportage Photography” to complement our formal wedding photography since the early 90s. Reportage is all about bringing a natural style to your wedding photography with relaxed portraiture that has an informal and altogether much more candid feel about it. Not to be confused with “Candid” photography however.

While reportage photography looks

relaxed and informal, to get good images your reportage photography will take planning and forethought.

Detail PhotographyAgain, I have shot “Detail” or “Thumbnail” photographs to complement my Reportage Photography for many years.

I found the wedding album can benefit greatly from small (thumbnail) images of details carefully placed within the design and layout that deliver a wonderful additional atmosphere to your storybook.

These images can be details of anything from stained glass to flowers or a vintage car badge to jewellery.

Candid PhotographyCandid is just shooting whatever is in front of you. While may seem a very hap hazard, almost amateur way to shoot, not having costly materials (film) to pay for has made “shooting from the hip a more worthwhile exercise and more popular. Very occasionally you get an absolute gem of a photograph.

PresentationThe presentation of beautiful professional wedding photographs telling the story of your perfect day has come a long way. New technologies bring a multitude of good quality albums as well as the opportunity to always carry your photographs on your smart phone.
