The menu has been created to meet the demand for a more relaxed dining style at weddings and events - using produce sourced from local producers, farmers and fishermen, all served in an informal and festive style. Our food is about bringing people together to celebrate your wedding, event or other special occasion. It’s about creating a comfortable atmosphere which exudes a playful and informal vibe, where guests enjoy food served by our friendly and professional team.

Service Style

Seated shared meal – Guests are seated for the meal, which is served to the table on share platters. Guests serve

their own portions from their seat (platters are distributed along each table to ensure no one misses out!)

Ceremony Wedding Ceremonies are usually conducted in the lush Orchard Garden, located between the Tahbilk Café and the Historic Cellar Yard Seating for 30 guests and linen clothed table with two chairs for signing of the marriage certificate is included. Additional hire of other items can be facilitated.

Photos

Photos can be taken in all public areas of the winery; this includes the historic underground cellars, Cellar Yard, Orchard Gardens, Tahbilk Café, Tahbilk Wetlands and the banks of the Goulburn River. Additionally, we can arrange a Tahbilk staff member to accompany you to have photos taken in the private rose garden adjacent to Cellar Yard.

Reception The Tahbilk Cafe seats from 30 to 120 guests with enough room for a dancing area and band/entertainment. The exposed wooden beams and use of natural light in the café – coupled with the deck outside overlooking the Tahbilk Wetlands make it the perfect setting. You may choose to utilise the natural look of the timber tables and chairs or we will cloth them in white linen. You are welcome to decorate the space to your liking; decorations hanging from the wooden beams are a popular option. Please note however that no screws or other objects are to be used to damage any timber surfaces. We suggest using cable ties. All decoration removal is the responsibility of the customer and can be done up to 2 days after the event. We will gladly facilitate the attainment of flowers, biodegradable decorations, transport or entertainment at additional cost – just ask us!

WEDDINGS AND OTHER FUNCTIONS TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The below signatory agrees to the following terms and conditions:

Payment 1. All provisional bookings will be held for 14 days then automatically cancelled unless a signed copy of these terms and conditions is received along

with a deposit of $1,000 function charge which is not refundable. 2. A deposit of a further 40% of the estimated function charge is required thirty (30) days prior to the commencement of your function.

3. Full payment of the event is required at least 14 working days prior to the function commencing. Services will not be provided without the final

payment being received.

4. Any non-quoted or other additional purchases have to be settled within 2 business days after the date of the function.

Wedding or Function Cancellation 1. Should you be forced to postpone your booked date, the original deposit paid to Tahbilk may be transferred to another date (subject to availability) at

least 90 days before the original date of the function on condition that Tahbilk is successful in selling the original date. 2. Only one transfer is permitted.

3. If you cancel your function booking:

Between 61 days and greater than 90 days before your function you must pay 10% of the estimated function charge (non-refundable deposit)

Between 31 days and 60 days before your function you must pay 25% of the estimated function charge.

Between 14 days and 30 days before your function you must pay 50% of the estimated function charge.

Less than 14 days before your function you must pay 100% of the estimated function charge.

4. Any cancellations, changes or additions must be received in writing.

Wedding and Function Details

1. You are required to provide in writing particulars of menu, beverages, entertainment, technical requirements, room set ups, starting and finishing times in connection with your function. These details are required at least one month before your function.

2. All plans and designs for any exhibitions or displays that you propose to stage or present during your function shall be provided to and approved by the Cafe management.

3. Noise restrictions apply for evening functions. Music must be turned off by 11:00pm unless agreed in writing by the Café management.

4. Menu and beverages are subject to change without prior notice due seasonal availabilities.

5. Your function is to conclude with all guests vacating the building no later than midnight. This allows appropriate time for us to clean and prepare the Café, balcony and bathrooms for the next day’s service.

6. Out of respect for the environment, Tahbilk does not permit the use of confetti, metal scatters, rice or similar items. An acceptable alternative would be rose petals.

7. Menu and beverages are subject to change without prior notice due seasonal availabilities.

Conduct of Wedding or Function 1. Your function must be conducted in an orderly and lawful manner and in accordance with the conditions attaching to the Winery licences granted

under the Control Reform Act, 1998. 2. Prior consent of Tahbilk must be sought for any entertainment or service contracted for the function by the client. 3. Tahbilk reserves the right to judge acceptable levels of noise or behaviour of the clients, guests or representatives and the client must take all

necessary action to correct. In the event of failure to comply with management requests, Tahbilk reserves the right to exclude or remove any persons from your function and / or terminate the contract and stop the function without being liable for any refund or compensation.

4. Tahbilk cannot be held responsible for the quality of food if not served at the scheduled time due to late arrival. 5. No wine, other beverages or food may be brought into the Cafe or grounds by the client or guests for consumption on the premises, unless pre-

agreed by the Cafe management. 6. The client will be responsible for any damage caused to the Café and its grounds by themselves, a subcontractor or their guests and shall pay for such

damage or loss of business caused as a result. 7. Tahbilk reputation: At the absolute and unfettered discretion of Tahbilk any function may be cancelled by Tahbilk, even if paid in full, if Tahbilk has

reasonable grounds for believing that the holding of such function would prejudice the reputation, good name or standing of Tahbilk.

Decoration for Weddings or Functions 1. The work can only be done when the Café is closed for trading, i.e. between 8am & 10am, or after 4pm on a trading day (Thursday – Monday) and

between 8am and 5pm Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

2. For safety purposes, a Tahbilk staff member must be in attendance at all times when decorations are being set up and removed and the cost of that

person is to be passed onto the wedding organiser. Please advise if you require a ladder and a suitable ladder will be supplied.

3. Any decoration/work that is done must not impede the normal operating of the Café.

4. No change can be made to the Café structure or other Tahbilk buildings or structures. You must ensure that nothing is nailed, screwed or adhered in

any way to any wall, door or other parts of any buildings or structures. This means no drilling of holes or hammering in nails. It is suggested that

decorations are secured by cable ties.

5. Removal of decorations is to be as soon as possible after the function and outside of Café trading hours. 6. If electrical power is required, the layout of power leads are to be authorised and checked by Café Management (or other appropriate person) to

ensure:

there is no risk of staff or visitors becoming entangled in the power leads (power cable traps should be used wherever practicable)

there are no tripping hazards (controlled with use of power lead covers)

power leads should be Test and Tagged by Tahbilk’s Test and Tag Contractor

appropriate physical protection has been provided to avoid damage to power leads (controlled with use of power lead covers)

all power leads are connected to a residual current device, (safety switch) which is either part of the overall power circuit or a separate plug-in device.

Service of Alcohol 1. A beverage package must be selected for all functions. All attending guests must have the full package price paid on their behalf irrespective to their

actual consumption. 2. Tahbilk practices principles of responsible service of alcohol. Intoxicated persons will not be served alcohol.

Laws and Regulations

1. At no time will the guests commit any act or permit invitees to commit any act that is unlawful, illegal, offensive, or is in breach of the venue’s rules. 2. To ensure the safety of all guests, Tahbilk asks that the client ensures that their function displays, equipment, goods or materials do not obstruct the

emergency exits of the venue.

3. Smoking is not permitted in any building, verandah and roofed structure. Smoking is restricted to the designated smoking area and smokers must

use the ash trays provided. It is the client’s responsibility to communicate this fact to all guests attending their function.

External suppliers 1. Where goods or services are supplied from an external supplier additional terms and conditions may apply, such as additional deposits, earlier

confirmation of final numbers or cancellation fees. Set up and Delivery

1. You are responsible for the costs involved in ensuring set-up and break-down of all function space. 2. All deliveries to the Cafe must be advised to the Tahbilk Office (telephone 0357942555) prior to the delivery and items must be marked with

Function name and date.

Items not collected

1. Any items that have not been collected after the function will be disposed of within fourteen (14) days
