They had three jam packed days full of fun and challenges that, despite the rain, saw them having a wonderful time. The students climbed rock walls, did some orienteering, swung on the “Giant Swing”, swam, played “Put Put Golf” as well as a giant game of Foo’s Ball among other things all while staying at the Feathertop Chalet. The students and teachers had a wonderful time. As usual the children received positive compliments wherever they went for their manners and behaviour. Thank you to Mrs Hatty and Mrs Laker for organising such a super excursion and to Mr David Vinecombe for assisting the teachers and students during the trip. Infants Intensive Swimming Scheme Our intensive swimming Scheme for the infants K-2 will begin next Monday 3 rd December. It will go for the entire two weeks concluding on Friday 14 th December. A note has been sent home to all families with students in K-2 explaining how the program will run. Please ensure all children bring their swimmers and a towel each day. There was a parent helper’s note attached with it to indicate your availability to assist during the fortnight. We hope you will be able to help out and watch the children progress. Year 7 Transition Day Students who will be attending Finley High School in 2019 have been invited to visit the High School as part of the students transition program next Wednesday 5 th December. Students will make their own way over and return via school bus or private transport. We know they will have a fabulous day! Kindergarten Enrolments We are currently preparing for 2019. If you have a child to enrol or know of someone who has, please encourage them to complete and return their enrolment forms as soon as possible. Thank you. School Captain 2019 Elections On Thursday, 6th December, during a special morning Assembly at 9:30am, we will be hearing from the leaders of our school for 2019 as they present their School Captain speeches. The speeches are usually of high quality and are listened to attentively. After the speeches, pupils will return to their classes to vote for the students they believe will make the best possible Captains for 2019. The school captains for 2019 will be announced on Presentation Night on Tuesday, 11 th December. Leaving Students If your child will not be returning to Tocumwal Public School in 2019, due to moving to another town/school etc. (other than Year 6 students), please inform the school as soon as possible as this will help in our planning for next year.
