SNOW DAY DECISION
The decision to declare a snow day is made by our Superintendent after consulting many resources. You will be notified by phone through our automated phone system if a snow day is declared. You can also check the district website (www.d181.org) and/or local radio and television stations.
DRESS FOR THE WEATHER!
Cold weather has arrived and the students generally go outside for recess unless the wind chill is below 0°F. Students staying at school for lunch are outside for 25 minutes. Please make sure they wear hats, gloves, boots and scarves. Children need to have boots and snow pants to play in the snow!
DISMISSAL
No Students on the Playground, Please
Some children like to play with their friends on the playground while school is being dismissed, however it makes it difficult for their parents to find them. Please do not use the playground after school until dismissal has been completed. This will help us make sure that all children have been picked up and are safely on their way home. We appreciate your assistance with this end of day procedure.

HOME ALONE DOG Oh MY! The adventures a dog would have if it was left home alone. Learn how to give our canine friend human-
like qualities. Situations make our dog humorous. A great lesson to
strengthen our compositional skills.
IT’S A YETI "The Abominable Snowman". A yeti is a mythical creature from the Himalayan mountains. An excellent drawing to practice figure drawing and creating different line patterns.
BIRD’S EYE VIEW Imagine a hilly countryside from a
soaring bird’s point of view. We observe objects appear smaller from a high aerial
perspective. Our composition features overlapping layers fluffy clouds, a winding river, and enormous hills.
FISH UNDER ICE Today we see fish swimming below
the frozen surface of a lake. A fisherman’s rugged pair of boots are placed atop the thick sheet of ice. A
worm on a hook teases our trio of fish.
HOCKEY PLAYER A detailed hockey player. This lesson is an excellent figure drawing teaching
character pose and proportion. Colorful hockey pads and a bold
goalie’s mask, produce an exciting, sports-themed illustration.
GREAT WALL OF CHINAThe Great Wall is an ancient structure
that was created to keep out invaders in northern China. Our drawing highlights
important concepts like perspective, foreshortening, and texture.
