NEW DELHI, July 26:
There are certain anomaliesin the implementation of theOROP for retired defence person-nel which are being looked intoby a Committee, Governmenttold Rajya Sabha today.
“There were certain issueswhich related either to anom-alies or about certain otherissues which were pending.They have all been referred to aCommittee headed by a retiredChief Justice. That Committeeis currently hearing all parties.It has asked for a slight exten-sion.
“I do hope that theCommittee, headed by a retiredJudge, which is the judicial tri-bunal, is trying to resolve allunsettled views, all ambiguitiesand anomalies and will comeout with its recommendationsvery soon,” Finance MinisterArun Jaitley said.
He said the defence person-nel are at an advantage over thecivilian employees as their revi-sion of pension would take place
every five years against ten yearsfor civilian employees.
“In the case of civilian
employees it takes place whenthe Pay Commission meetsevery ten years.(PTI)
