Ugh… How do you use this thing?

When going on YouTube, you have two choices. You can either decide to create an account and upload videos, or you can decide to be a visitor only. This means that

even if you do not create an account and upload videos, you can still navigate the website and look at videos

posted by others. To go on the website, follow this link: http://www.youtube.com/ . Look at the next slide to

begin exploring this page!

Type key words in the search box to find videos about a particular subject.

If you have an account already, and want to access it, click “sign in”.

If you want to create an account, click on this link.

Here you will find all the most popular videos about general subjects.

If you have signed into your account, you can click on this link to upload videos!

Let’s say you want to look at a video related to dogs. You do not have to have an account

to do that! By simply typing the key word “dogs” in the search box, you will find a list

of choices from which you can choose!

This is the search page, where a list of options is available. Click on any of these links to view a certain video!

For each video, you will see what it is about, who it is from, when it was posted, and how many views it got.

You can order the searched videos according to relevance, upload date, view count, and rating.

After looking at all the available videos, I decided that I want watch the video called “Skateboarding Dog”.

Here we can see the name of the person that posted the video. If we have an account, we can also subscribe to this person. We can play, pause,

and control the volume through these buttons.

If you have an account, you can like and dislike the video.

In this space we can see how many people liked and disliked this video.

A string of commentaries is usually present beneath a video. However, you have to have an account in order to comment.

Therefore, you do not have to have an account in order to watch the videos on YouTube! There is footage on

anything you can think of: music videos, trailers, interviews, sometimes even whole films; it is a wonderful tool! However, it is even more convenient if we have an

actual account to be able to like, comment, and subscribe to other people’s videos as well as post our

own.
