There is a lot more sugar in our favorite beverages that we think and research even links drinking these sugary drinks to type 2 diabetes! This challenge aimed to educate you on how much sugar might be lurking in your drink. We asked you to submit a picture of a drink, the serving size, grams of sugar and the conversion of grams into teaspoons. Lets take a look at what you found out!

Shocking is all I can say! Tara Ender Schultz, PPS-Neenah

I really like the taste of Country Time Lemonade, however, after I completed this challenge and saw how much sugar is in one can I am going to make a different drink choice. Laura Lentz, Hartford

  • I drink 2-3 glasses of this per day, in a variety of flavors. Pictured here is the grape flavor. We only use 1 scoop vs. the suggested serving of 2 scoops per glass. It appears there are 0 grams of sugars in this, Weve included a picture of the nutrition label too! This is the same as my co-worker Nancy McDaniel, because there are several of us here that drink this its a great boost of energy before a workout, or just when you need an extra pick me up of energy! Amanda Beyersdorf and Nancy MecDaniel, PPS-Neenah

    Sherry Miracle, PPS-Neenah

Water, tea & coffee are about it for me. The creamer I add to coffee is unsweetened almond milk. No juices or milk and cereal in the morning; no sugar for me to measure for the challenge, Im afraid. Christa Saunders, PPS-Neenah

  • I took an alternate approach to my challenge since I avoid sugary drinks at all costs, and wont be drinking any this week. (I definitely have problems in other areas though!). I instead took a picture of a drink that I had today that is delicious and bubbly but avoids sugar, and even artificial sugar Seltzer water = 0 sugar. Now, I know part of the challenge was to write down a sugar conversion, so if this were Black cherry SODA rather than Naturally flavored black cherry SELTZER. It would be 33g of sugar = 8+1/4 teaspoons! All out of 1 can amazing. The biggest reason to avoid it! Mike Donegan, Philadelphia

    Mark Widman, Latrobe

    Bonnie Hudec, Hodgkins

  • This equates to 2 glasses of juice I have in a day. This amounts to about 28 grams of sugar. Kevin VandeYacht, PPS-Neenah

    David Uitenbroek, Oconomowoc

    Rick Fossen, DeForest

  • Wow, I was surprised to find out that 5 out of the total 8.8 grams inside each packet contained sugar. Steve Kamke, PPS-Neenah

    Joshua Cummings, Corporate North

    Andy Steinfort, PPS-Neenah

  • Faith Zoellick, Oconomowoc

    Mike Gruber, York

I love Mountain Dew Code Red but every time you drink one bottle youre essentially taking three shots of sugar! Outrageous! Rachel Snell, York

  • Craig Anvelink, Neenah

    Stacey Bartlett, Neenah

  • Jane Boettcher, Neenah

  • I don't drink this every day, but now I might never drink it again! Debbie Boardman, Neenah Plant

Every morning my husband was thinking he was drinking something good for him. After discussing that drinks have so much sugar we checked out the cranberry juice. As you can see it has 28 grams of sugar. We are going to give the Light Cranberry Juice a try as a way of keeping the intake of sugar down. Darla Duncan, York

  • -Kevin Sanderson, York

    -Amy Kumaraperu, Menasha Corporate

  • -Joel Rank, Menasha

This was a lot more than you would think! 12oz. can has 39 g. of sugar. Mike Vaughn, Madison Heights

  • - Christine Olsen, MPC Home Office

My family and I enjoy a delicious drink of Simply juice. The attached in particular is very delicious in our opinion...good to know it does not have a lot of sugars like other juices. - ?

  • I like to drink Snapples. This one in particular is Peach flavored. Hard to believe that something we think is healthy can have a lot of hidden sugars. Dioseline Salgado, Midwest 21G

Yikes!!! 14.75 teaspoons in a White Chocolate Mocha. Good reason to stick with plain 'ole black coffee! :) - Troy Martin, Neenah Plant

  • Dont know if this will get me the bonus points or not, but all I drink are these sparkling ice lemonades and water. These have 0 sugar. I gave up pop and havent had one since November 2nd 2014, almost 6 months now! Kristan VanderWeide, Muscatine

  • 1 bottle of Snapple, which is 1 serving size, contains 36 grams of sugar (or 9 teaspoons). Im glad it usually takes me at least 2 meals to finish a bottle Deanna Frederick, Edison

  • -Dan Frankfurth, PPS-Neenah

  • Realized this morning that this should have been submitted yesterday. Im submitting even if it doesnt qualify as its very informative! I dont drink coffee, but I do drink the Chai Tea Lattes at Starbucks. UGH! the sugar in this drink not enough to make me stop, BUT enough to curb me from pulling in to a Starbucks every time I have a whim! Patty Rega, Yukon

  • That's a lot of sugar for 1 glass of juice (I realize it is fake juice) Alan Hindley, Mentor

    - Kim Holland, Mentor

  • Never thought on how much sugar the energy drinks have, will look for options with less sugar, 5 teaspoons per serving is incredible high. Eduardo Rincon, Mexico

    - Kevin Schuh, Menasha Corporate

  • - Kristina Moser, Hartford
