WALKING TOGETHER - LEARNING TOGETHER
Last week’s assembly was the last school assembly Mrs Calvert would
attend as a permanent teacher at our school. It was great that Ethan, Tayla
and Izzy, in their role as School Captains, could present Mrs Calvert with a
bunch of flowers and say some kind words on behalf of the student
population.

Students have the opportunity to experience the circle of life with the birth of quite a few goat kids. The Agriculture Interest Group in particular loved giving the very, very cute baby goats a cuddle. .
On Thursday, the staff held a socially distanced Farewell Morning Tea for Mrs Calvert on her retirement which was full of tears, laughter and many memories. She has been an inspiration and support to many students, teachers and staff during her 20 years at Windsor High. We wish her all the best.
Mrs Calvert you are going to be missed by everyone here at Windsor High.

Even though there are still some COVID-19 restrictions around excursions, we were still able to be a part of a project based on Sustainability and Biodiversity. It was our Year 7 ATSI (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) students who were the lucky ones, having a great day in our outdoor classroom and our farm learning about biodiversity with teachers from Longneck Lagoon. Kind regards

HSC Minimum Standard Testing
The HSC minimum standard is part of an effort to improve the literacy and numeracy outcomes for HSC students in NSW. Therefore from 2020, students in NSW will need to demonstrate a minimum standard of literacy and numeracy to receive their HSC. Throughout Semester One this year, Year 11 students have been progressing through the process of completing the minimum standards testing with support from the English, Maths and Learning and Support faculties. The remaining students will be finishing the process during Term 3. Moving into Semester Two, the Windsor High School English, Maths and Learning and Support Faculties will be supporting Year 10 as they begin to undertake the process of completing the HSC Minimum Standards Testing. Students will undertake preparation lessons and practices prior to completing the official testing.
