Dear Parents This Thursday at 4pm we are holding our ECE Grounds Blessing Event with Father Benedict officiating to bless the grounds and those involved in the project. Our PP and Kindy children and their parents have been invited to attend although we realise this may cause a dilemma for some parents in having their other children cared for. We will roster on a teacher to care for school aged children of those PP and K parents who wish to attend however we do need to know by tomorrow for catering and organisational purposes. So, if you wish to come but had found child minding the stumbling block please either phone the office or respond to the booking link sent last week to let us know you are keen to attend and let the office know if you would like your older children monitored. These children would be cared for in the Library. If any other parents from the school wish to come please also let us know if you would benefit from having your school aged child cared for between 4 and 5. As Book Week is fast approaching we thought it best to let you know, with sufficient planning time allowed, that we are holding a Dress Up as Your Favourite BOOK Character Parade. This will take place on Wednesday morning, the 23 rd of August at 8:50am in the Hall. All parents and friends are welcome to attend of course. Our Teacher Librarian, Trish Collins, will be the main judge and each class from PP – 6 will be awarded 1 st and 2 nd place. The first prize will be a book and the second a voucher to the Snack Shack canteen for some Recess tucker. The Kindy class will plan their own Book Week character dress up and Trish will also give a prize for the winners there too. This Sunday our Year 4 students and some fellow parishioners from other schools will be receiving the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time. Today they were all enthusiastically engaged in a Retreat focusing on the sacrament and parts of the mass in preparation for TERM 3 WEEK 4 – 8 August 2017 WEEK 4 WEEK 5 Mon 7 Tues 8 Wed 9 Thurs 10 Fri 11 Sun 13 Birds of Prey - Kindy Yr 4 Retreat Mass - Yr 6 St Mary of the Cross ECE Grounds Blessing - 4pm Assembly - Yr 2 EduDance PP-Yr3 Reconciliation Yr 4 First Holy Communion 11am Mon 14 Tue 15 Wed 16 Thu 17 Fri 18 Coming Up Wed 23 Aug Sun 27 Aug Yr 6 Schoenstatt Shrine Retreat Bishops Religion Literacy Assessment - Yr 3 Mass - Yr 5 Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Reconciliation - Yr 5 Assembly—Performing Arts Choir EduDance PP– Yr 3 School Disco - 5pm to 8pm Book Week Dress Up Parade 9am - PP to Yr 6 Sacrament of Confirmation 11am CALENDAR OF EVENTS Newsletter Attachments (Electronic version only): Parent Education Session by Hugh van Cuylenburg from the Resilience Project Sunday.
