Robogals

Year 5 students attended a free workshop brought to

us by Newcastle University Robogals and Peabody.

Students were able to code, work with robots, and

were spoken to by representatives from Peabody

who brought their drone along for some informative

fun.

Students were very excited and intrigued by what

was on show.

Last Day of Swimming

Last Friday was our last day for Stage 2 and 3

swimming lessons.

This lesson was a particularly important one being

the students ‘survival’ lesson- how to survive in the

water fully clothed. All our students put in so much

effort and were very enthusiastic this lesson. After

that, everyone enjoyed some fun on the floating

obstacle.

Talking About Maths – Use The Everyday

Tesha L, writing with Mrs Brander

Clouds as white as snow drifted through the sky

while the rainbow over the ocean shimmered like a

thousand islands.

Trees as green as grass danced with the wind as it

picked up the sand and drifted it off into the misty

blue sky.

Library Stocktake

This week the library will be closed to borrowing as

the annual stocktake is conducted. This is the

perfect time to check at home if you have any library

books and return them to the library.

There will be no more borrowing this year. Please

return all books to the Library.

ROAD SAFETY

Please help us to keep our kids safe when leaving

school.

Parents please reinforce road safety rules with your

children in particular the importance of using the

allocated school crossings.

K1/F Power Writing

Mrs Farrells students have been doing Power

Writing to improve sentences to make it more

interesting, adding adjectives and adverbs.

Here are just a few examples of this fantastic work.

rode the wave.

On the weekend the cool handsome surfer

Stranded Stage 2 students have been working on writing more interesting descriptions using similes,

metaphors and powerful adjectives. Here is a few samples of their hard work.

Clouds as white as snow drifted thorough the sky while the rainbow over the ocean

shimmered like a thousand diamonds. Trees as green as the grass danced with the wind

as it picks up the sand and drifted it off into the misty blue sky.

Tesha S2S

The beautiful rainbow shone over the ocean as magnificently as a sun radiating bright like

a torch. As the trees moved softly in the wind the yellowy-orange sand blew away. The

clouds flew through the sky like rainbow balloons so colourful that I couldn’t take my eyes

off them.

Zeb S2S

The sky drifted around me slowly so beautifully like I’ve never seen before. Pink cotton

candy clouds, block the suns hard rays. The wind blew through the trees back and forth

like a balloon person. The magnificent sun shone bright like an angel’s diamond

shimmering lighter and lighter taking my breath away.
