WEEK COMMENCING 20th APRIL
In Maths we are going to move onto the topic of time, and telling the time.
This is a really important life skill, as well as being part of the Year 4 maths
curriculum, and is a really good thing to learn when you’re at home
with your family. There are also lots of games online that you could play
to practise.
Year 4 objectives for time:
• Convert between different units of time e.g. hour to minute
• Read, write and convert time between analogue and digital;
12- and 24-hour clocks
• Solve problems involving converting from hours to minutes;
minutes to seconds; years to months; weeks to days.

Have a look around your house – how many analogue
clocks can you find, and how many digital clocks can
you find?

Wednesday 22nd April
Today we are going to be learning about 24-hour time. Draw yourself a clock like the one below, writing
both the numbers 1 – 12, as well as the 24-hour numbers.
Have a think about when the 24-hour time might be helpful to use and why. Where might you find the 24-
hour time used in everyday life?
