If your child is registered they will receive a snack bag prepared in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide, and program guidelines. We hope to have this program start the first week of school.

St. Anne's - 18th Sunday - Aug 2nd, 2015 1st Reading: Exodus 16:2-4, 12-15. God feeds his people in the desert by sending them manna and quails. This became the classic example of his care for his people. 2nd Reading: Ephesians 4:17, 20-24. Paul urges the Ephesians to turn aside from the aimless life they lived before they heard the Gospel, and to live lives of goodness, holiness, and truth. Gospel John 6:22-35. Jesus declares he himself is the true bread from heaven of which the manna provided by Moses was but a pale image. Gospel Challenge: I am the bread of life; I am the living bread from heaven. The implications of these claims by Jesus become clear when they are seen as proceeding from the distinctive relationship with God that he has just explained. Picking up again the familiar story of the manna in the wilderness, he compares and contracts the former bread from heaven with himself, the giving, life-giving bread. Unlike the manna that provided sustenance for a short time, Jesus is the source of eternal life. Although he is like the manna in that both he and it were sent from heaven by God, the manna was merely rained from the sky, while in the incarnation Jesus proceeded from God's very self.
