• We’ll have a virtual day wherein you complete some activities online instead of coming to class.

A WORD ABOUT WEEK 13
I’m going to flip-flop Projects 4 & 5 on the schedule.
We’ll be starting Project 5 (the book trailer) first and finishing the semester with Project 4 (the revisionary essay).
Next week while I’m away, you’ll be able to work at your own pace in the planning stages of the book trailer.
You’ll have a couple of benchmarks you’ll need to meet so that we’re all ready to go next week.
FLIPPY FLOPPIES: PROJECTS 4 & 5
PEER REVIEW: PROJECT 3
• As before, Peer Review will happen in MSU Google Docs. If you have a hard copy of your paper, I’ll come around and take it.
• Everyone will have their own peer review worksheet to fill out as before.
• Make sure to put your papers in your group folders, which are located inside the “Project3_ROUGHDRAFTS” folder.
DO THIS RIGHT NOW
In the Project3_ROUGH_DRAFTS folder, find your peer review group subfolder
Put your paper into that subfolder. MAKE SURE EVERYONE IN YOUR PEER REVIEW GROUP CAN ACCESS YOUR PAPER.
Make copies of the peer review worksheet. Save them in your folder to fill out later.

ROUND 3: PARAPHRASE AND SUMMARY
As before, you will work in your peer review groups to create short PowerPoint-style presentations that demonstrate to paraphrase and summarize source materials.
You’ll present your work at the end of the round.
Your presentations will be judged on correctness, clarity and style.
As before, there are prizes!

ROUND 3: PARAPHRASE AND SUMMARY
You’ll work inside MSU Google Docs (in the “MLA Idol March 30” folder) for easier sharing and presenting.
Each team will be assigned a different highlighted selection from a specific source.
Please do use your McGraw-Hill Handbook to help you. You should also consider using the Purdue OWL: http://owl.english.purdue.edu
ROUND 3: PARAPHRASE AND SUMMARY
To Qualify, Your Presentation MUST:
1. Identify your source and give some context. Make sure to give your audience a general idea of what the article is about.
2. Provide a correct AND incorrect example of a paraphrase of the selection. Tell why each is correct and incorrect, noting the differences.
3. Provide a correct AND incorrect example of a summary of the selection. Tell why each is correct and incorrect, noting the differences.
4. Use proper MLA citation and format!
ROUND 3: PARAPHRASE AND SUMMARY
General Guidelines: MAXIMUM of 4 slides. Clearly explain WHY your
paraphrases/summaries are correct and incorrect. Your classmates are counting on you!
Put your names on the presentations. Save your presentations as
“TeamNamePresentation”
WRAP-UP
• As before, your homework will be to peer review. You’ll also need to finish up Project #3.
• Check the schedule/website for updates on work for next week while I’m gone.
