n Zaheer abbas This collection's lyrical quality drew inspiration from the sonnets of poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Abbas's departure from an all white palette which characterised both his previous collections had the intended impact - the audience watched in mesmerised silence as the first set of models walked out in all black outfits with gold embellishment and coloured accents. Our favourite pieces from his collection were the black pants and crop-top worn by model Areeba Habib and the silver and lilac bridal donned by Cybil Chowdhry.
Élan In perhaps the perfect marriage of island fever and urban cuts, the Sauvage Collection built an ambience of a nocturnal, romantic city girl walking through a rainforest. Joining the likes of Hermes, Dsquared, Just Cavalli, Herve Leger and Christiano Siriano resort collections, Élan gave us modern contradictions that left us fascinated. After scores upon scores of bridals, the beadwork on loud prints, the contemporary tailoring, layering and dark hues beset by psychedelic embellishments were a welcome addition to the ramp.

nilofer shahid For a couturier of Nilofer Shahid's caliber it must have been nerve wracking to put up her local runway debut collection after already having established her reputation as a maestro in the field of fashion. Anointed by the French for her contribution to couture and having shown all over the world, Shahid brought the magic of Meeras to the FPW runway. Inspired by the life and works of another artistic prodigy, Rembrandt, Shahid's collection spent six years in the curating and designing process, a painstaking amount of time that was evident in the end result. An audible gasp could be heard across the audience as model Nooray Bhatti stepped out in an embellished shift layered under an opaque hoop skirt, by far our favourite piece from the collection. From the accessories to the shoes, everything for the collection had been customised. Even the media giveaways were inspired by the collection, ranging from a feathered book mark to an ornate ear-cuff and hair pin. A true amalgamation of art and fashion, Shahid ensured the finale ended on a grand note for fashion enthusiasts.
