LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL
Wow! How quickly the year has gone and all of a sudden we have only one week of school remaining. The last week of school is always very busy for the students and teachers and at the culmination of what has been a long year tiredness can be an issue. Please ensure that your child is well rested when sending them to school next week.
SCHOOL FEES AND PAYMENT PROCESS FOR 2015
As published in the newsletter earlier this Term, School Council has kept fees for 2015 as they were for 2014. Attached to today’s newsletter is a page outlining the school fees and payment process for 2015.
Please note that as in previous years, parents are required to pay the Educational Supplies portion of the fees and collect their child’s school supplies prior to the beginning of the school year. The school will be open on Tuesday 27th January between 10am and 2pm for parents to do this.
Please feel free to come and see me if you have any further questions regarding school fees or the payment process for 2015.
ORIENTATION DAY
Tuesday’s Orientation Day was very successful with all students ‘stepping up’ to their 2015 Grade level. It was a pleasure to see students from both the Prep-Two and Three-Six Learning Spaces engaging with new peers and in some cases, getting used to a new classroom. We also welcomed two new students to our school who will begin in 2015—Jazmin (Year 3) and Teagan (Year 2).
Orientation Day was the last of the six Little Learner’s sessions for our 2015 Preps. These sessions have helped the students get used to the structures and routines of the classroom in readiness for beginning Prep next year. Thanks to Mrs Wickham for her efforts coordinating the Prep Transition Program.
STUDENT REPORTS AND LEARNING JOURNALS
Student Reports and Learning Journals have been sent home today.
SOMERS CAMP 2015
We had five students who expressed an interest in attending next year’s Somers Camp and I am pleased to announce that all students have been successful in gaining a place on the camp.
A reminder to return the Application Form, Medical Form and camp payment to the school ASAP.
Principal’s Report ART SMOCKS and HATS
Art smocks and hats will be sent home next week. We ask that these be washed and kept at home until the start of the 2015 school year.
HEAD LICE
We have had a reported case of head lice. Head lice inspections were conducted yesterday and the result of each child’s inspection was sent home. I remind parents of the need to be vigilant and regularly check their child’s hair for head lice and treat appropriately.
I wish to thank our dedicated team of parents who have volunteered their time to conduct the head lice inspections throughout 2014.—Thank you very much for your efforts!
SCHOOL READERS
With next week being the last week of school we ask that all school readers be returned ASAP. School readers will not be sent home next week.
GRADE SIX GRADUATION DINNER
Thank you to all those parents and family members who attended Wednesday evening’s Graduation Dinner. It was very exciting to have so many people attend, making the night very special for our graduating Grade Six students.
Well done also to the students who were able to deliver their entertaining Graduation speeches so successfully in front of the large audience.
SCHOOL COUNCIL
Our final School Council meeting for the year is this
Monday 15th December at The Bridge Hotel in
Bendigo. We will have a short meeting at 6.30pm,
followed by dinner at about 7.15pm. Partners are
welcome to attend for dinner. I look forward to
seeing you all!
Quote of the Week
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in
your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction
you choose. You're on your own. And you know
what you know. And YOU are the one who'll
decide where to go...”
― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!

Principal
All the students finished off their information posters and feather drawings to complete the bird display. Next time you are at school have a look at the colourful display opposite the front desk. The students did a great job.
