Dear Faithful Parishioners, Sunday is the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. This is a time when Catholic schools across the nation celebrate with activities and special events celebrating our students, teachers, community, parishioners, pastors and our faith. Working in a Catholic school has been the most exciting and rewarding job I have had. Did I say job? It's more than a job, it's a ministry and has been a blessing in my life. I am surrounded by a staff who not only touch our students' minds, but nurture their spirits and their faith and prepare them for heaven! At a time when many of our Catholic schools have declining enrollment and are closing, Sacred Heart School is growing...and doing very well. Your 5th Sunday Collection helped 9 families this year...families that may not have returned without the extra funding we were able to give them. Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping support our parish school and the children who attend it. Queridos fieles feligreses, El domingo es el comienzo de la semana de las Escuelas Católicas. Este es un momento en que las escuelas católicas de todo el país celebran con actividades y eventos especiales celebrando a nuestros estudiantes, maestros, comunidad, feligreses, pastores y nuestra fe. Trabajar en una escuela católica ha sido el trabajo más emocionante y gratificante que he tenido. ¿Dije trabajo? Es más que un trabajo, es un ministerio y ha sido una bendición en mi vida. Estoy rodeada por un personal que no solo toca la mente de nuestros estudiantes, sino que nutre sus espíritus y su fe y los prepara para el cielo. En estos tiempos muchas de nuestras escuelas católicas tienen reducciones de matrículas y se están cerrando, la Escuela del Sagrado Corazón está creciendo ... y está teniendo mucho éxito. Su 5ª colección del domingo ayudó a 9 familias este año ... familias que no hubieran podido haber regresado sin la ayuda financiera adicional que pudimos darles. Una vez más, les agradezco desde el fondo de mi corazón por ayudar y apoyar a nuestra escuela parroquial y a los niños. WINTER BIBLE STUDY One of the greatest needs we have is for security and well being. This week we’ll unpack the words of Jesus and discover why we can trust Him to be our Good Shepherd. Come to the Parish Center on Thursday evening to discover “Who is This Man Jesus?” We meet from 7 – 8:30 pm and you can borrow a bible if you need to.

Give them some food yourselves…Matthew 14:16…Some people would like to be charitable when a person is outside our Church asking for a handout. Our policy is not to offer cash, because we have our parish food pantry that offers food, and there are other charities that help in different ways. But we know our Christian hearts want to give. The parish has purchased a big batch of $5 gift cards for Taco Bell, Burger King, Subway, and Wendy’s. You can buy these from the office, and when you want to give someone some money for food, you can give them one of these cards. It’s not a perfect solution… but, even the smallest things, done with good intentions, magnify God’s love. Déles un poco de comida... Mateo 14: 16...
