Want to help with Young Choir Lunch?

Our preschool, elementary, and middle school students typically eat a quick lunch on Sundays between our worship service and their choir and handbell practice at noon. If you would ever like to help with that lunch, there are two simple ways you can! 1) Make about 10 small sandwiches in advance of your chosen Sunday. Bring them that Sunday morning, and put them in the church fridge. Label them "Young Choir." That's it! 2) Help prepare the lunch by coming back to the first classroom on the left (when you enter the education hallway from the sanctuary) immediately after Pastor Doug's sermon. Instructions and help will await you there! You'll be finished by noon or sooner. If you would like to sign up for either of these jobs for one Sunday in May or June, please email Beth Gibson ([email protected]), or call her at (804) 693-6520. Just indicate what you would like to do, and your preferred Sunday. She will respond with thanksgiving and confirmation! Thank you for considering!

One Dish Date for Eight

Eight people (couples or singles or both) meet 4

times for a meal.

The host makes a main dish and the other

participants bring an appetizer, salad or a

dessert. Meals can be any day and time that the

group decides and will take place from May thru

September. The location is usually in 4 different

homes, but it can be in the park, at the church

or at a restaurant. Don't worry if you have likes,

dislikes or food allergies. Every group can adjust

the menu and there will be plenty of things to

enjoy. Such a great way to meet a small group of

people in a relaxed atmosphere. The 4 meals

will take place time commitment. Hope you can

join us! Sign ups after Worship in the Narthex.

AND if anyone would like to help LuAnn

organize these groups, she would appreciate

your assistance!

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto

Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

We’ve had a wonderful year together in the Women’s Small

Group, studying “Glory Days” by Max Lucado and finishing with a look at some beautiful Psalms. We won’t

be meeting over the summer but will resume again in mid-September.

Think about joining us then! Cyndy Moore

The Growing With Grace class is wrapping up Louie Giglio's study on Colossians. On May 5th, we will get together to enjoy coffee and donuts while we wrap up Colossians and

introduce a new study. The new study will be the Book of Ephesians by J.D. Greear. It is a nine-week study. We are located in the last room on the adult wing coming from the

sanctuary. We would love to have you join us at 9:15! Any questions, email Cindy Lanning at [email protected] or call the church office.

Join us to learn what we teach our children in our Sunday school and Children’s Church classes.

Get to know our teachers better, what their roles are, and learn more information about our

programs. Doing this will allow you to enthusiastically share the wonderful opportunities we offer

to our children with neighbors, friends, and visiting families.

Contact Cindy Lanning at [email protected] , or call the church

office 693-2071.

Team Members Needed

There are great opportunities to support this year’s program even if

you won’t be able to help during the week!

Joining Becky Lazos’ pre-registration team is a great way to help!

This work can be done on your own time during the two weeks

leading up to VBS. This involves making name tags and organizing

tags for Monday morning’s registration process.

Join Dianne Reynold’s decorating team to transform our church into

a place where amazing encounters happen “in the wild!” All supplies

and materials are provided. This team will be creating bulletin

boards, hanging backdrops, setting up stand-up items, and just

generally transforming the building into a great learning

environment.

GLOUCESTER MATHEWS CARE CLINIC

Do you know anyone you can share this with? If you don’t qualify for Medicaid, but still can’t afford

health insurance we have the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic that will help you!!

Our church supports the clinic and it has come to our attention that they need patients! This could be serious

because if they don’t get enough traffic through the doors they might have to close! To see the if someone

you know may qualify or just to learn more see the posting on our Community Bulletin board.

Note from The Outreach Foundation:

The mission of The Outreach Foundation is to engage God’s people in the work of God in the world.

As the season of Lent moves forward toward its pinnacle, the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the

Outreach family would like to thank you for giving hope to people in great need. Whether it be clothing for the

Syrian refugees in numerous United Nation camps through Lebanon or food for Venezuelan families, your gift will be used to its fullest to care for the people of

the world as we spread the Good news of Jesus Christ in word and deed.

Thank you for your generosity! Rob Weingartner, Executive Director
