    ELIGIBILITY: Active Duty Soldiers, Retired Soldiers, other military working or residing on an Army installation, National Guardsman, Army Reservists and their adult family members; DOD and AAFEES civilians (to include DoD contractors) that work on an Army Installation on the island of Oahu are eligible.

    ENTRY DEADLINE: All entries must be received by the USAG-HI Sports Fitness and Aquatics Office, Stop 112, Bldg 556, room 100, Kaala Community Activity Center, no later than Friday, March 9, 2012. Entries may be faxed to 655-8012/438-2470.

    ORGANIZATION MEETING: The Organization meeting to determine draws will be held on Monday, March 16, 2012 at 3:00 pmat the Sgt Yano Library.

    Entrants in the Fort Shafter area may call 438-9572. Information may also be obtained via the MWR Sport website: http//www.mwrarmyhawaii.com.

  • 1) Active Duty Soldiers, National Guardsman, Army Reservists are eligible.

    2) The current edition of United States Tennis Association will govern play except as modified or amended by local rules.

    3) Location of Tennis Tournament is Martinez Physical Fitness Center Tennis Courts # 595, #596, #597, Schofield Barracks. Upon concurrence of opponents and approval of tournament director, alternate sites and times may be used for tournament play.

    4) Matches will commence at 1800 each day. Competitors are responsible for knowing play sites, dates and times as stated on tournament bracket.

    5) There will be a ten minute grace period. The late competitor is not allowed a warm up and the match will start immediately upon arrival.

    6) Competitors must check in ten minutes prior to match or at the call the Tournament Director for instructions and court assignment.

    7) Matches will be scored best two out of three sets, twelve point tiebreaker at six all in each set.

    8) Competitors will officiate their own matches. The USAG-HI tennis contractor/professional and Tournament director are available for interpretation of rules. Their decision is final.

    9) Problems of cramps, upset stomach, are related to stamina and physical conditioning and are not cause for delay of game/match.

    10) Tournament director may remove competitor(s) from the tournament for obnoxious or unsportsmanlike behavior. Examples include but are not limited to gestures, swearing, threatening, and racket throwing, touching an opponent or spectator in a threatening manner.

    11) Competitors will provide their own equipment. Tennis balls will be provided. Appropriate tennis apparel and footwear must be worn.

    12) The number of entries in each division will determine the tournament format. a) Mens Open b) Mens Novice/3.5 and below b) Womens Open c) Womens Novice /3.5and below

    13) Tournament Director has the right to advance the play schedule. The Tournament Director may postpone, stop, or cancel the tournament because of inclement weather or other emergency. Matches will resume as soon as possible. Matches may not be played in advance without tournament directors approval.

    14) Matches and the tournament may be moved forward because of inclement weather.

    15) Awards will be presented to the Champion and runner up of each division.

    In an effort to raise awareness about the Tripler Fisher House and how we can assist our Military Families during a medical

    crisis or loss, we are partnering with each Military Branch, community partners and other non-profit organizations who support

    our Men & Women in uniform. This is open to military and civilians. There will be different vendors and information booths to

    highlight what is available to our military families on Oahu within each Service as well as the community. There will also be a

    Memorial Tribute of combat boots to line the path for the participants so we are always reminded that someone has paved the

    path in which we are about to travel. More information to follow in the coming weeks. For more information and up to date

    Please help us collect a pair of boots to represent each Service Member who has died since 9/11, you may add a picture to that

    needed to help teens and parents of children to teach kids to help themselves.
