MAY BIRTHDAYS
UPCOMING MEETINGS
2017-2018
Once again Carrolyn has been appointed as the designated Editor. For our enjoyment, Blair Richey is the designated paparazzo.
Sir Rick Horne began the meeting PROMPTLY at 12:10 pm. The invocation was led by Blair Richey and
Andy Sayers lead the Rotarians in the pledge. With Dr Jason Kramer making a living, and Nancy Humphrey out of town celebrating her daughter’s graduation, our fearless leader served as the Sergeant at Arms. Today our Visiting Rotarian from the Plano Metro Rotary Club, is Shaheen Salam. Always nice to have her visit. We had two guests today. Roy Reeves introduced Sharon Brucato. Sharon and her husband Paul have a
llama farm in Parker, close to Southfork. After a little cyberstalking, I discovered Sharon has published a children’s book called The Llamas of ShangriLlama. Also, I discovered pictures of some of the llamas. Maybe this is our next social???Mark Johnson introduced his guest, son Kyle. Kyle is one week away from finishing 2nd year of dental school. I am guessing Mark might be planning to have his son practice with him.
May Birthdays were recited…Sam Huffines, John Priest, Chris Parr, Howard Matson, Kelly Palmer and Mary Jo Dean…a rousing edition of
Happy Birthday followed! Choir practice is much
needed! Sir Rick exclaimed.Numerous announcements were shared by Sir Rick. Our next service project “Sam’s Gift” food drive is on

June 2nd. The 6 Rotary clubs are working together to provide food to Plano’s Food Pantry on East 18th Street. Our club is responsible for side dishes – hamburger helper, rice-a-roni, boxed potatoes, rice meal packets (Spanish rice, chicken & rice, etc). For those who would prefer not to go grocery shopping and would consider donating money, those funds will be used to purchase ground meat, chicken, eggs, and cheeses.Remember on May 25th the All Club Luncheon from 11:30 to 1 at Brookhaven Country Club.

The Annual Battle of the Badges is being held in early July in various locations. More to come. Everyone is urged to donate blood in the name of the Fire Fighters.
Social event was canceled due to weather…rain and wind. Will reschedule for another time.
Budgets for the Foundation and Club will be developed this month and will presented to the Board in June. Comments submitted at the Club Assembly were reviewed. If you have additional comments, please share with Sir Rick via email.
Nathan Barbera has the privilege of introducing our guest speaker. In return, Nathan receives little applause. Sir Rick shares that Dr Kramer’s lesser half is having to work today. Back
to the introduction… Nathan discussed his negative thoughts of chiropractors (due to his lawyerly mission in life); but then it happened. Nathan’s back was giving him all sorts of grief. He saw a variety of Doctors which prescribed
medications and/or suggested surgery. After 1 ½
years going to Drs Kramers’ clinic Revolution Chiropractic, he feels much better (note the 1 ray of happiness shooting out of his proboscis?). He recommends the Dr Kramers and holds them in high esteem…Well, at least Dr Shea Kramer. Dr Kramer receives a warm welcome and explains that her husband shared two points in regard to our Rotary club. First, don’t go over time. Second, chances are people will not be paying attention.
Dr Shea’s brother had many issues with ear infections, when he was young. Eventually, her parents decided to take the brother to a chiropractor. The manipulations by the Chiropractor, helped resolve his ear infection; hence Young Shea (she’s still pretty darn young compared to us) decided at a very young age that she wanted to be a chiropractor.Revolution Chiropractic has been in business for 7 years … due to the fact she’s been working with Jason that whole time, she added she may be a little crazy. (Of course, we can understand that). The benefits of seeing a chiropractor includes reducing medications, lowering blood pressure and boosting the immune system. “What if your body can recover and change and not be on medications forever? What if prescriptions are just the stepping stones to getting better?” stated Dr Shea.Revolution Chiropractic obtains the patient’s medical history. They look at the spine and nervous system, gently manipulating those areas using the torque release technique. Neurological reflexes are observed, and a plan is developed to improve their functions and shared with the patient. Dr Kramer wrapped up her presentation within the encouraged time limit giving plenty of time to ask questions or share comments... First, it was voiced

Bring a guest with a
serving heart to Rotary
that if any of us were to become clients we would have to get clearance from Nathan.
Then you can always count on Larry Flannery, who asked, “If your elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top, can you help them?”. I’m not sure she responded to
that quip. Nathan stated if you need chiropractic service, you should insist on Dr Shea not Jason, due to the pesky Seahawk issue…. Last question…are you taller than Jason? Silliness abounds!
Alex JOhnsOn was asked to share
an update regarding the Model United Nations team. 17 students, representing Israel and Estonia, are going to Chicago to participate 6/1 thru 6/2. They will have an opportunity to tour Paul Harris’s gravesite and home. For many of the kids, this will be the first time on a plane.
Thanks to fast talking Dr Shea, our meeting adjourned at 12:50 allowing for more time to visit.
Candid Moments…
