Wee Residencies 2015

About usBoom! Collective & Studios is a recently established independent social enterprise offering a shared workspace, a membership collective, a workshop area and small gallery space. Our aim is to provide a vibrant workspace and head space for local artists & creatives ; a space to come together, to work, to inspire each-other, to develop links and opportunities that support individual practices and the collective as a whole.

Established by three artists who took the plunge and took on the top floor of the old Clinton Cards building, a forgotten white box that has been empty for years, we now have 6 artists resident in Boom! Studios. We aim to provide more studios spaces in the future and to grow and develop the space and the collective through projects, events, exhibitions and happenings…

Bang in the centre of Bangor we can only provide a positive contribution to the regeneration of the town centre and the local community though creative enterprise.

We hope Boom Collective will continue to grow and develop and make a BOOM! - This is where you come in…

Selected artists will receive a symbolic fee of £2 and 2 hours in a space in Boom! Studios to create or perform work. The residencies will be open to the public to observe or take part (depending on the artist’s intention) and will be documented by Boom!.

The outcomes of the residencies and/or documentation of the residencies (whichever is appropriate) will be exhibited in Boom! Gallery.

Selected artists will also be awarded a year’s membership to Boom! Collective & Studio’s with the benefits that will afford –
