Holy Baptism
Welcome in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ
25
Holy baptismSCRIPTURAL COMMAND
Our Lord Jesus Christ says: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
26
Holy baptismADDRESS
The word of God teaches that we are born sinful and unclean, but God washes us clean in the waters of baptism, and we are born again as his children. Through baptism our heavenly Father forgives us our sins and unites us with our Lord Jesus Christ, so that we share in his death and resurrection. And the Holy Spirit renews us and gives us eternal life.
27
Holy baptismADMONITION

Do you intend to do this? Yes, I do.

FIRST READING
Ezekiel 34:11-16,20-24
CEV
The Lord himself will be the Shepherd King
Ezekiel 34:11-16,20-24
R: The first Reading for the Last Sunday of the Church Year is written in Chapter 34 of Ezekiel beginning at Verse 11.
11The LORD God then said:I will look for my sheep and take
care of them myself, 12just as a shepherd looks for lost sheep.
Ezekiel 34:11-16,20-24
My sheep have been lost since that dark and miserable day when they were scattered throughout the nations. But I will rescue them13and bring them back from the foreign nations where they now live. I will be their shepherd and will let them graze on Israel's mountains and in the valleys and fertile fields.
Ezekiel 34:11-16,20-24
14They will be safe as they feed on grassy meadows and green hills.
15I promise to take care of them and keep them safe, 16to look for those that are lost and bring back the ones that wander off, to bandage those that are hurt and protect the ones that are weak.
Ezekiel 34:11-16,20-24
I will also slaughter those that are fat and strong, because I always do right.
20So I, the LORD God, will separate you strong sheep from the weak.
Ezekiel 34:11-16,20-24
21You strong ones have used your powerful horns to chase off those that are weak, 22but I will rescue them and no longer let them be mistreated. I will separate the good from the bad.
23After that, I will give you a shepherd from the family of my servant King David.
Ezekiel 34:11-16,20-24
All of you, both strong and weak, will have the same shepherd, and he will take good care of you. 24He will be your leader, and I will be your God. I, the LORD, have spoken.
This is the Word of the Lord.C: Thanks be to God.
Psalm 100 CEV

SECOND READING
Ephesians 1:15-23 CEV
Christ reigns at God's right hand
Ephesians 1:15-23 R: The Second Reading is written in
Chapter 1 of Ephesians, beginning at Verse 15
15I have heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God's people.
16So I never stop being grateful for you, as I mention you in my prayers.
Ephesians 1:15-23 17I ask the glorious Father and God of
our Lord Jesus Christ to give you his Spirit. The Spirit will make you wise and let you understand what it means to know God.
18My prayer is that light will flood your hearts and that you will understand the hope that was given to you when God chose you.
Ephesians 1:15-23 Then you will discover the glorious
blessings that will be yours together with all of God's people.
19I want you to know about the great and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful power he used 20when he raised Christ from death and let him sit at his right side in heaven.
Ephesians 1:15-23 21There Christ rules over all forces,
authorities, powers, and rulers. He rules over all beings in this world and will rule in the future world as well. 22God has put all things under the power of Christ, and for the good of the church he has made him the head of everything.

We Sing our Closing Hymn:
Make me a channel of your peace
LH 858 CAL 293Sebastian Temple, based on St. Francis of Assisi
Make me a channel of your peace
1. Make me a channel of your peace:where there is hatred, let me bring
your love;where there is injury, your pardon,
Lord, and where there’s doubt, true faith in
you.
Make me a channel of your peace
2. Make me a channel of your peace:where there’s despair in life, let me
bring hope;where there is darkness, only light, and where there’s sadness, ever joy.
Make me a channel of your peace
3. O Master, grant that I may never seek
so much to be consoled, as to console,
to be understood, as to understand,to be loved, as to love with all my
soul.
Make me a channel of your peace
4. Make me a channel of your peace,it is in pardoning that we are
pardoned,in giving to all men that we receive, and in dying that we’re born to life.
