Fault gases are caused by corona (partial discharge), thermal heating

(pyrolysis) and arcing.

The Gas Concentrations in the oil depend upon : The volume of oil involved (dilution factors)

The age of the transformer (new or old) The type of transformer (Generator or Transmission) (Sealed or free breathing)

(Construction of Tap changer)





Increased Stress require more frequent and improved condition monitoring
