Accidents and Driver Eligibility

• Three preventable accidents in three years– Used to be three in five years

• The agency “Accident Review Committee” has the final accident status determination of “preventable” vs. “non-preventable”

Driver’s License Points

•Update…– The following language will be

removed from the current rule:(d) The authorized driver has 150 or more points

on his or her Utah driver's license record.

Four or more moving violations in 12 months

• Rolling 12 months• “Clean slate” for

current state driver’s as of the effective date of the rule– December 1, 2008

Driver Eligibility Board Hearing

• 2 week notice for the driver• Supervisor is invited• Driver’s agency is represented• Driver is able to answer

questions and make comments• The hearing is private (not open

to the public)

Hiring New Employees

• Effective Date of the Rule– December 1, 2008

• Look back three years for new employees• Requesting personal Motor Vehicle

Records (MVR) during the interview process

Why the Change?

• Identify high risk drivers• Reduce accidents• Reduce liability• Fair process across agencies

Enterprise Reminders• Gascards

– A gascard is issued with each reservation– Please ensure the gascard comes back with the packet– Make sure the vehicle is always full of fuel as you drive off

the Enterprise lot and that you return it full.• Remember to deny Enterprise Insurance• Treat Accidents the same as State Vehicles• Enterprise can pick you up within a specified distance• An Operator ID is required
