What is PRIDE Period (PP)?PRIDE Period is the hour in the middle of the day when students have an opportunity to select activities to make their day productive and enjoyable. Students are encouraged to use this time for academic support, participate in clubs and have their lunch.
Make A Plan! On B day Mondays students will remain in first period for “Advisory”, where they will make a 2-week PP schedule and review grades.

Frequently Asked Questions 1. When will I receive my schedule?
Your schedule will be given to your child on the first day of school.
2. Will I receive a locker?
We have lockers available if you would like one. You are allowed to carry your book bag with you and all of your belongings from class to class although we do have lockers if you want one. You will need to see Ms. Collins in the main office for one.
3. What if I want to play a sport? Who do I contact?

4. Can I view my students grades online? Yes, once the student is enrolled and has a Student Identification Number, you can sign up for Parent Portal here: https://www.aacps.org/Page/1325
5. Is there a school dress policy? No, students can wear what they want as long as it is appropriate.
6. Do I have to take gym every year? No, every student has to take one semester of Fitness for Life and one PE elective in high school. You will have to purchase a gym uniform (10 dollars for shirt, 10 dollars for the shorts) and you can do so the first week of school. 7. Do I have the same classes everyday? No. We are a block A/B schedule. You will have 4 classes each day. The A/B schedule can be found on aacps.org.
8. How will I know what bus to ride? A few weeks before the school year, a bus list will come out in local papers and will be posted on the county website as well as Arundelhigh.org.
9. If my student has a car, can they drive to school?
Parking is for seniors only. If your student is a senior, please contact Linda Smith, the administrator over parking.
10. Where will I find the school supply list? We recommend you just get general supplies for the first day of school until you get your schedule. Some courses require items individual to their subject and you will find that out when you receive your syllabus in each class you have. If you need help with purchasing school supplies, please email your school counselor.
11. What if my child has a 504 plan or IEP? Who is the POC for those? Please see quick links resources….all important contact information is there.
12. How do I know if I qualify for free or reduced lunch?

Even if your child doesn’t like to eat school lunch but you think you will qualify, fill this out anyway as there are other benefits such as SAT fee waivers, college application fee waivers and so on.
