ST. THOMAS CHAPEL St. Thomas Chapel on Fal-
mouth Heights is now open
with a Vigil Mass on Saturday
at 5:30pm and Sunday at
10:30am. Seating capacity is
limited and we ask all in at-
tendance to respect others
by social distancing both in-
side and outside the church.
The chapel will remain open
through Labor Day weekend.
ST. JOSEPH CHAPEL Unfortunately, because of the
limited seating capacity due
to the coronavirus precau-
tions, we are unable to safely
open St. Joseph for weekend
Masses. It is disappointing
because there have been a
number of renovations which
have occurred during the off
season. However, the chapel will be open on
Wednesday afternoons at 3pm for the Divine Mercy
Chaplet, followed by Adoration and ending with
Mass at 5:30pm. We hope local residents and guests
in the area will join us for prayer and Mass in this
beautiful church.

The 79th Annual Fall River Diocesan Catholic Appeal “See All the People” has begun! While de-
layed because of the pandemic, we cannot delay in our call to respond to those who are in need in
our communies. As Bishop da Cunha wrote in his le0er to all parishioners: “It is most crical to
connue the work of the Catholic Appeal” which includes supporng food pantry programs, hous-
ing for the homeless, pathways out of addicon, and spiritual support for those in hospitals. One
of the beneficiaries of this appeal is the Weekly Diocesan Catholic Mass which airs on ABC6 (Cable
22 in the Falmouth area) and where I have served as Director for over 30 years. In these past few
months, the TV Mass on broadcast television has been an important apostolate to those who have
been unable to a0end Mass and did not have the benefit of livesstream Masses because of their
inability to access the internet.
Please consider, as your means allow, supporng the efforts throughout our diocesan community.
Contribuon cards were mailed to parishioners. You may contribute directly online by going to
the website www.givefrdiocese.org/2020

We are presently undertaking the task of taking a new cen-
sus of our parishes. All registered parishioners should have
received, by now, our new census form in the mail. If you
did not, you may pick one up at one of our parish offices, or
call and we will mail one to you. You may also do this on
line on our website. PLEASE fill out and return to one of our
parish offices or place in collecon box. Much of our present
data is incomplete and outdated, so we would appreciate
your help so that we may be:er serve you and your family
in the future. If you are seasonal members, please note that
on your form. Thanks!

We appreciate your support of our parishes, espe-
cially during this difficult *me when collec*ons
have diminished. Thanks to those who have
dropped off their envelopes and other donaons.
If you wish to place your dona*on in just one en-
velope (as opposed to mul*ple weekly envelopes,)
please feel free to do so. All three parishes can
now par*cipate in the WESHARE online donaon
program whether that be a ONETIME DONA-
TION, or a temporary weekly or monthly dona-
*on, or even perhaps using ONLINE GIVING as
your permanent means of support. Contact Dan
Cunha in our business office if you have ques*ons.
As you know, the weekly collec*on is our primary
means of support. From this, we must pay u*li*es,
insurance and most importantly, our faithful em-
ployees. Thanks to all. Fr Steve

CATHOLIC COMMUNITY OF
FALMOUTH NEWS
SAFETY FIRST
We are grateful to those aEending Mass who are fol-
lowing the policy put in place as a result of the pan-
demic. However, the policy is only as good as those
who cooperate with it. Please follow the direcFons of
the ushers and sit filling in the pews from the front. It
is disheartening to hear people complaining that they
can’t sit where they want. When people do this, it is
hard to know what seats are available and will ulF-
mately mean less people will be able to come into the
church. Masks are required unless a medical condiFon
prevents you from wearing one. At the conclusion of
Mass please DO NOT CONGREGATE at the doors of the
church. This prevents people from exiFng safely and
defeats the purpose of why we are distribuFng com-
munion at the end of Mass. If you wish to gather, do
so AWAY FROM THE DOORS! Now is not the Fme to be
lax. It would be a shame if public Masses were discon-
Fnued again a/er all the hard effort that has been
made. The best policy: think of others before yourself!
Thanks.

PARISH AND CEMETERY OFFICE HOURS
All parish offices are open on limited hours. Please call
beforehand.

SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
Bishop Edgar de Cunha, Bishop of the Fall River Dio-
cese, will confer the Sacrament of ConfirmaFon on
the youth of our three parishes at special Masses on
Sunday, July 26th and Sunday August 16th at 2pm at
St. Anthony’s Church (currently the only church in
our collaboraFve with livestream capability.) This
will enable those who are unable to aEend to parFci-
pate by watching on our website. Please keep our
youth in your prayers on these special days.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
The children of our three parishes will receive their
First Holy Communion at special Masses on Sunday,
Aug. 9 and Sunday Aug 30th at 2pm at St. Anthony’s
Church in order to be able to broadcast the Mass via
livestream for family members who might not be
able to aEend. Parents of First Communion children
have received an email from Jonathan Galo asking
you to choose which day you would prefer. Please
do so this week. Choices are on a first come basis.

STILL NOT COMFORTABLE
COMING INTO CHURCH BUT WOULD LIKE TO
RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION?
For those who are sFll a bit apprehensive to come
into the church, Masses at St. Anthony’s and St. Eliz-
abeth Seton can be listened to on your car radio in
the parking lots on FM 87.9. Communion will be dis-
tributed at the end of Mass, at St. Anthony’s East
Door and St. Elizabeth Seton front door.
A WORD OF THANKS
Thanks to the MANY volunteers who are assisFng in
serving as ushers and saniFzing the churches between
Masses. Without this group of people, we could not
have been able to remain open. It is no small feat
considering that there are 12 weekend Masses in our
collaboraFve. We are especially in need of assistance
at St. Thomas Chapel and St. Elizabeth Seton Church.
If anyone would like to volunteer to assist, please
contact the specific parish office and we will get your
name to the coordinators.

teerism and scholarship of these young members of

the parish’s support of our fundraisers which allow
us to conFnue this endeavor.

Cod! If you might be interested in sharing some from
your gardens to decorate the sanctuary during the
