(cash or checks written out to HCA) • Please see calendar for important dates. • Please note children will be marked late if they arrive after the 8:25 am late bell. • Make sure you child has a dismissal note with instructions on how they are going home. School Picture Day will be Thursday, September 30th - THIS WILL BE A DRESS UP DAY.
Homeroom assignments were sent home in the family envelope. There will be no postings of class lists on the front doors of school this year.
• First Day of School is Monday, August 26,2019. Late Bell rings at 8:25. Students arriving before 8:00 will be sent to Before School Care. Parents will be charged for this service.
• First School Mass - Friday, August 30 at 9 am. All are welcome!
• Student bus information will be sent by your school district the week before school begins. Please check your district website for dispatch phone numbers in case you need to call for late arriving buses.
• Iowa Testing takes place Sept 16 - 27. Please do not schedule appointments for your child during school hours. Late arrivals and early dismissal are disruptive to all students who are testing. Office staff will not use intercom for early dismissals during test weeks.
• Please view our school website for information regarding: o Gift Card purchase and tuition credits o Extended Care Forms and information o Student School Supply Lists o Parent/Student Handbook o Payforit.net lunch account information
• Cost of lunch for students in grades K-8 - $3.50 daily, PreK - $3.00.
• Volunteers are always needed for recess and cafeteria. If interested, especially for the first few weeks of school, please contact recess@holycrossacademypgh. org for recess or [email protected] for cafeteria.
• Anyone wishing to volunteer at school or at school related events must have mandatory clearances (see page 1).
• Please be patient with late arriving buses and our car pickup lines in the top lot for the first few weeks of school until everyone acclimates to the new school year schedules.

Welcome to Holy Cross Academy Kindergarten 2019 !
We hope you are enjoying your summer vacation. School will be here before you know it!
Supplies can be dropped off at our Ice Cream Social on Sunday, August 25, 11:00 am - 1:00
pm. The first day of Kindergarten classes will begin on Monday, August 26.
We look forward to meeting all new Kindergarten students and their parents! The agenda for
the first day of Kindergarten will be:
9:00 am Parents and children visit the classroom. If you have not previously dropped off
supplies for your child, please bring them with you.
9:15 am "Get Acquainted" time. Parents will meet with their child's homeroom teacher.
We will have a brief orientation about the Kindergarten program followed by a
question and answer session. The children will socialize, play, and explore the
school during this time. Following the brief orientation, parents will leave and
students will continue with first day of school activities and procedures.
(Please remember to park in the upper parking lot area on this first day as the
lot in the front of school is for short term parking only).
Students are dismissed at 3:00 pm. Please follow school dismissal instructions. Please
remember to label your child with dismissal instructions, (either Car Rider, Bus or ASC) and pm
bus number (if riding home on the bus) for the first two weeks of school.
Enjoy summer vacation. We look forward to seeing you and your child in August.

Dear Holy Cross Academy Preschool and PreK Families,
Welcome to what will certainly be another exciting year at Holy Cross Academy!
We are so happy you have chosen our wonderful school for your children. We
are planning an orientation for all early childhood students (3-year-olds and
4-year-olds) and their parent(s)/ guardian(s). We will acquaint ourselves, allow
the children to mingle, share all pertinent information regarding schedules, daily
routines, rules and regulations, and answer all questions you may have regarding
our early childhood program. Please park in the upper lot for Orientation and
enter through the school office. Drop off and dismissal procedures for class days
will be explained at the orientation session.
