Teaching Moment:

What does the term “Hypostatic Union” mean ?

The union of the divine nature of Christ as God with his human nature as man. Christ is true God and true man, and possesses two natures, one divine, and one human, without confusion. Although they are inseparably united, each nature retains its proper characteristics. Thus Christ, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity did not just assume the physical aspects of a human being while on earth, he actually became man, both in body and soul. The Catechism of the Catholic Church paragraph # 469 says this: “The Church thus confesses that Jesus is inseparably true God and True man. He is truly the Son of God who, without ceasing to be God and Lord, became a man and our brother”.

Third Week of Lent Tercera semana de Cuaresma

Hungering for a Season of Hope Hambre de una temporada de esperanza The next stop on our CRS Rice Bowl journey is the African nation, Niger, where we’re reminded that life’s joys and chal-lenges are often seasonal. This week we pray for people who struggle to feed their families during the hungry season— when food is in short supply—and we commit to acting for the common good.

A Note from the Administrator...

Dear friends, A good-sized group of parishioners --- 90 or so --- showed up last Wednes-day for the town hall meeting to dis-cuss the state of St. Margaret Mary’s and collect feedback to help me and the Pastoral Council create a pastoral plan. Already some patterns are emerging from this meeting and the parish sur-vey conducted earlier.

People want more attention paid to parish liturgical music. They want more repairing and spiffing up of our buildings and facilities. And they really want the parish to be more engaged with serving the poor and promoting social jus-tice. Many other concerns were raised, as well as deep appreciation for the good already going on. You will be hearing more about this.

On another note … did you notice that we have better and clearer signs around here? Many thanks to Armando Her-nandez and the facilities committee and to further promote clarity and order, we have renamed something. That build-ing next to the church --- that has been called the “old church,” “old hall,” “teen center,” and even “multi-purpose room” --- has been renamed “Sacred Heart Center” … with “Room A, B or C,” “O’Day Library” and the “Loft.” It will take awhile for us to get used to the new names, but eventually it should be-come easy and natural.

Peace, All Good! PS Don’t forget that we’re in lent. If you haven’t begun, “now is the acceptable time”!!!

THANK YOU TO ALL THE 9 THROUGH 14 OLD BOYS & GIRLS
