. . . the day is really about sharing and networking and teaching everyone how to appreciate our beautiful surroundings so steeped in history, romance, mystery and intrigue. “Lines on the Pines” is about a genuine respect for one another and what we each offer to the area known as the New Jersey Pine Barrens.

This one day event is free and open to the public from 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM and is always held on the second Sunday in March. I do all of the planning, paper work, scheduling, press releases and you get the opportunity to showcase and sell your art, books and crafts. A dinner (reservations only) with limited seating is offered afterwards starting at 4:30 PM. This year it will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the Frog Rock Golf & Country Club in Hammonton. $30 for dinner.

We will honor R. Marilyn Schmidt, author and owner of Buzby’s General Store.

Atsion Mansion Tours

• During the first year after restoration, the Atsion Mansion was open for tours on Sunday’s until the end of October 2009• Limited to 15 people per tour at: 11:30, 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30.• Due to lack of electricity, shutters must be open – so there are no tours on rainy days or if docent is ill. Slots could be reserved in advance on

one of the tours.• The tour is strictly architectural – there is no furniture inside.• There was no charge for a tour that first year.• At that time, there was a givt shop located in the former General Store selling leaflets on Batona Trail, Wharton State Forest, and Batsto,

literature on camping and hiking, and a booklet on the history of Atsion.• The Atsion office was open daily from 9 to 4. The address is 744 Route 206, Shamong, NJ 08088.

“Barbara, if you are willing to take the lead, we may be able to pull this off’...  We know we have interested volunteers.  We have a draft script.  If you are willing to assist us in training and scheduling…then I say we move forward.  What do you think?  Even if we focus on a few days each month to start.  Training can be scheduled in April with tours starting in May and continuing as long as there is interest and good weather.”Rob Auermuller , Superintendent of Wharton State Forest – 12/2/11

“Hi Joe, I'm sure you saw the email from Rob today and I wanted to mention before your meeting that I will definitely take Rob (Auermuller) up on his offer. Are you willing to go to a first meeting? Also perhaps you could mention Saturday that if there is anyone interested in being involved in this project they should contact me at my email address or 609-472-2087 (cell)”
