What is the CPSD™?

The Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity® (CPSD™) is a professional designation for supply professionals who demonstrate knowledge, skills and expertise in supplier diversity. The CPSD™ is also for business professionals with responsibility for strategic diversity initiatives. This professional designation demonstrates to colleagues, suppliers and customers that you are serious about helping your organization and diverse suppliers succeed. This designation also delivers added value to business leaders and other team leaders who participate in the development of diverse supplier initiatives within the organization. The CPSD™ is supported by various diversity organizations.

Why should you pursue this designation?

You need to speak, and understand, the language of purchasing and supply chain to provide a solid business case for diverse suppliers. The CPSD™ demonstrates you have an understanding of procurement and the entire supply chain, not just supplier diversity. It proves you can lead a comprehensive supplier diversity program. This professional designation demonstrates to your employer, your colleagues, your suppliers and even your customers that you are serious about helping diverse suppliers and your organization succeed.

CPSD™ Eligibility

• Successfully pass the CPSD™ Exam.• Successfully pass Exam 1 of the Certified

Professional in Supply Management® (CPSM®). This requirement is waived if the candidate holds a current C.P.M. or CPSM.

• Minimum of five years professional (non-clerical, non-support) supplier diversity or supply management experience (does not need to be primary function), OR three years of professional (non-clerical, non-support) supplier diversity or supply management experience IF the candidate has a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university (or international equivalent).

How to maintain the CPSD™

CPSD™ qualifications are valid for a three year period from the date of issue. Individuals with these certifications should submit a recertification application with proof of continuing education hours completed within the 60 days prior to the expiration date. To maintain a CPSD™, it is required to earn 60 Continuing Education Hours within a period of three years from the date of issue. CEHs may be combined with those needed to maintain a CPSM®.
