Whatisinterpretiveandbiographicalresearchandhowdoweassurequality?
Prof.HazelReid,FacultyofEducation,CanterburyChristChurchUniversity,UKThe session would explore what we mean by interpretive and biographical research and discuss the ‘turn tonarrative’. Itwill also examine achieving rigourwhenworkingwith qualitative and interpretivemethodologies, aspart of the measurement of quality research. But the work needs to be ‘valid’, so finally the presentation willconsiderthecriteriawecanadopttoenhancerigourandtrustworthiness.

The 21st century world of work is progressively becoming more dynamic, uncertain, and insecure. Within thisfluctuatingenvironmentpeople increasinglysearch for themeaningofwork in their life.
