Here are a few things we thought you would like to know to help you feel at home with us today: Please accept one of the green bags that you will find on your way out of the front entrance of the sanctuary as our gift to you. Restrooms are located in the large room adja- cent to the sanctuary. Our ushers will be glad to point you in the proper direction. Children are always welcome to worship with us. However, for your convenience, a nursery is available for parents with children 3 years old and younger. The nursery is staffed during the T3 hour (Trinity Time Together) & 10:45am service. Parents may use this room during the 8:00am service as well, being able to watch the service on the TV located in that room. An usher will be happy to help you find the nursery room. The offering is an opportunity for our members to support the Lord’s work at Trinity. As our guest, we ask only that you sign our Friendship Pad as it is passed down the pew. When we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, we do so convinced that Jesus gives us His true body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Re- ceiving the Lord’s Supper here expresses not only fellowship with the Lord, but also agreement with the teachings of this congregation. There- fore communicant members of LC-MS congrega- tions are always welcome to commune with us, and other guests wishing to commune are kindly asked to speak with the pastor before the ser- vice. We cherish the opportunity to worship with all followers of Jesus, and we regret the sad divisions within Christianity. Trinity’s mission team has ar-ranged for a morning of out-door work at A Place of Ref-uge, a ministry of the South Wisconsin District of the Lu-

theran Church-Missouri Synod, dedicated to ministering to the needs of women in crisis pregnancies. Our team is looking for volun-teers to spend the morning of Saturday, April 14th, helping prepare the garden, rake up leaves and winter debris, clean gutters, and do other necessary spring yard work. This is an ideal service project for entire families to help. Contact Rick Adams for more information. Sign up in the Gathering Room and at T3.

Prayer before worship: Holy Lord, You are worthy of all I have and more. Give me Your Spirit so that I can bring You honor, praise, and glory, not just during this hour but with my whole life, through Jesus Christ, Amen.

First Reading: Acts 4: 32-37 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his posses-sions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need. Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means Son of Encouragement), sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles' feet.

Second Reading: Philippians 4: 10-19 I rejoice greatly in the Lord that at last you have renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you have been concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, wheth-er living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles. Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid again and again when I was in need. Not that I am looking for a gift, but I am looking for what may be credited to your account. I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs accord-ing to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' FROM THE BUSINESS MANAGER... Have you ever had someone tell you that you are just like your parents? That comment can be a two-edged sword, right? We all have parents who perhaps passed on a few good qualities, and shall we say, some not so good quali-ties? When I was in second grade, my family took a road trip to Florida in a small RV. I recall bits and pieces about that trip, but I can remember one event as if it just happened yesterday. We were at Busch Gardens, and my parents decided that it was time for me to ride my first "upside down" roller-coaster. I didn't agree. Apparently, I also didn't have a say. In a whirlwind of resistance, and prob-ably some crying, I was stuck in line. As if that wasn't bad enough, my parents, who had no intentions of going on the roller-coaster, had talked two total strangers into taking me on the ride along with them. I actually don't remember the ride at all, but I'm sure I didn't like it. That experience was etched in my mind for all time, an example of questionable (bad) parenting, and a firm foundation for me to be completely different when I was a parent someday . . . . When my youngest, and only daughter, was 8 years old, we took a day trip to Six Flags. She was quite content to ride the Whizzer, a tame roller-coaster, over and over and over again. I had other ideas. It seemed to me to be about the right time for her to step up to a more advanced roller-coaster, The Demon! In line, with her dad who she trusted fully, my nervous daughter asked, "Dad, does this ride go upside down?" I stammered, "I don't think so." It did, even had a diabolical cork-screw. "Does it have any big drops?" she questioned. "Um. No, I don't think it does." It did, several. "Is there a bathroom before we get on the ride?" There wasn't, but of course, I replied, "Yep. Pretty sure there is one right before we get on." Wow. Not only was I EXACTLY like my parents, but I graduated to "Advanced Bad Parenting" by adding several blatant lies to my twisted scheme. The Old Tes-tament takes us on a journey where each generation failed to learn the lessons of the previous one, and continually fell away in more and more tragic ways, but never too far for God to pull them back. I survived my ordeal, albeit with some lingering bitterness. My daughter survived, but I suspect she continues to plot her revenge for when I least expect it. My thoughts wander to my future grandchil-dren . . . . Watch out for that first trip to an amusement park. Buckle in. You have no idea what you're in for.
