Barracudas 2014: The Johnson Ranch Racquet Club Barracuda Swim Team is a
recreation-based age group competitive swimming program committed to providing every participant with high quality swim
technique training in an environment that is safe and fun. We believe that the Barracuda emphasis on sportsmanship, family participation, teamwork and continual strive to "Do your best!" teaches essential life skills that will lead to a lifetime of fitness,
personal and professional success for our children.

– Parent volunteers are essential to the sport of swimming! • In order to maintain efficiently run swim meets, fun
social activities, and fundraising events, ALL parents are required to volunteer several hours each swim season. This benefits each and every swimmer on our team!

Practice Information• Which practice does your swimmer attend?
– Location on your swimmer’s account shows the practice level– Coaches assign practice levels for each swimmer– Coaches will make adjustments and notify parents of changes– Swimmers must attend assigned practice level
• Attend minimum 3 days / week, up to 5 times per week• Swimmers need to have at practice:
– JRRC Membership card when coming to the club– Cap, goggles, and fins
• On deck and ready to get in the water 10 minutes before start time– This 10 minutes is used for dry-land and/or video
• What do I do if I have a question for a coach?– Please do not approach coaches on deck– Please email the appropriate Assistant Coach. Contact info on website.
Meet Information• Sign in or out of each meet no later than the Saturday, one week
prior– Any comments to coaches put in the comments section– Select the events you swimmer ‘wants’ to swim, but ultimately coaches
determine the events swimmers swim each dual meet• Typical Meet Timeline:
– 6:00am Gates open for tent setup (no tents setup on Friday night)– 7:00am Check-in Closes
• All swimmers must be checked in and ready for warmups• Level 2 need to be checked in and ready at 6:55 behind blocks

Age Group Changes & Relay Tent• Age Group Tents will only be for 6&Unders and 7/8 Age groups
– What Is it?• There will be 4 age group tents, Girls 6&Under, Boys 6&Under, Girls 7/8, and Boys 7/8
– Age group parents are responsible for:• Being the main point of contact for the swimmers, parents and coaches for questions related
to the meet throughout the meet• Responsible for helping all swimmers get their events/heats/lanes for the meet• Responsible for helping to write up the relay slips and help swimmers get paired up in their
relay teams and to the blocks on time• Be the main point of contact prior to the age group event to help all swimmers get to the ready
bench/blocks on time.
• Checkin/Relay Tent– What is it?
• Place to go to find out events/heats/lanes for all swimmers• Place to meet for 9 and Up relays
– Checkin Volunteers will be responsible for:• Working this tent during relay periods during the morning and afternoon relays

– 6&U swim Saturday only– Preliminary races in the morning, Finals and Relays in the afternoon

Locker Room Etiquette• We have the privilege of swimming at JRRC! Parents, please help remind
swimmers that we share this club with other adult members who have a right to use the showers/locker room in good condition and in a calm environment:– Conduct yourselves appropriately and treat the club and its members with
respect at all times!– Limit your shower to 5 minutes! – Absolutely NO misuse of soaps, lotions, etc.– NO towel snapping or any other horseplay at all.– NO use of cell phones in locker rooms for any reason.– Keep the noise level down and conversations appropriate. Socialize on the pool
deck or in the Kid’s Club.– Keep your swim bag/gear tidy and do not spread out all over the locker room. – Place ALL used club towels in bins in the locker room or at the front desk. Do
not leave towels on floor or benches.
• Failure to adhere to the above rules may result in a loss of privileges, suspension and/or expulsion from the team. Please do your part!
