It is a great pleasure for me to welcome all of you to the 2 nd ICGEB Workshop on “Human papillomavirus: From Basic Biology to Cancer Prevenon”, which is co-organized by the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, in conjuncon with the Internaonal Centre for Genec Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). This three-day workshop is to serve as a plaorm for preclinical and clinical sciensts, academia and healthcare professionals to share knowledge and to discuss future research opportunies on topical issues of HPV, ranging from cancer development, detecon, epidemiology, prevenon to evoluon. I would like to also welcome our parcipants coming from 14 countries. Your contribuons of ideas and thoughts on HPV will enrich the deliberaons.
