Welcome Mr. Sayers Baseball & US History Date In this class, we will explore how Baseball has made an impact on the History of the United States of America. This class will count towards your US History Part 2 graduation credit requirement. I hope this point of view allows you all to connect more to the material and remain engaged. Unit 5 – Playing in the Shadows

We will be watching Ken Burns’ TV/DVD series “Baseball” once again as our main source of instruction. We will be concentrating on “5th Inning: Shadow Ball”. In this section, we

will see how the Great Depression, World War II (WW2), and Racial/Ethnic/Religious Identity affected the US. We will have to use other resources to fully gain all the

information needed to understand this time period (late 1920s-1945).
