We extend a special welcome to those who are crying new-borns, skinny as a rail or could afford to lose a few pounds. We welcome you if you can sing like Andrea Bocelli or like a person who can’t carry a note in a bucket. You’re welcome here if you’re “just browsing,” just woke up or just got out of jail. We don’t care if you’re more Catholic than the Pope, or haven’t been in church since little Joey’s Baptism. We extend a special welcome to those who are over 60 but not grown up yet, and to teenagers who are growing up too fast. We welcome soccer moms, NASCAR dads, starving artists, tree-huggers, latte-sippers, vegetarians, junk-food eaters. We welcome those who are in recovery or still addicted. We welcome you if you’re having problems or you’re down in the dumps or if you don’t like “organized religion;” we’ve been there too. If you blew all your offering money at the dog track, you’re welcome here. We offer a special welcome to those who think the earth is flat, work too hard, don’t work, can’t spell, or because grandma is in town and wanted to go to church. We welcome those who are inked, pierced or both. We offer a special welcome to those who could use a prayer right now, had religion shoved down your throat as a kid or got lost in traffic and wound up here by mistake. We welcome tourists, seekers and doubters, bleeding hearts... and you! The Positive Behaviors Interventions Sup-port (PBIS) team at Pistor Middle School aims to give recognitions for teachers, and students, as they participate in the school wide program. PBIS is looking for donations from the community to enhance their resources and program.

Delicious December Delights: For the month of December, we will be serving complimentry coffee, hot cocoa, teas, and a small bite as you arrive at church. Stop by the century room and enjoy! Open from 9:00 - 9:45 am. The last Sab-bath will be December 31. . . . . . unless . . . .Some of you have suggested that we continue this new idea, and if you would like to volunteer, and specifically lead out, please let the pastors know.

Christmas Eve Service: Today, 5:00 pm. Invite your friends and neighbors to join your family at our Christmas Eve Service tonight right here in the Sanctuary.

New Year’s Potluck: You are invited to the Patten’s residence for potluck on Sabbath, Dec. 31, right after church. Maps will be available.

New Year’s, Dec 31: All ages are welcome to an early New Year’s Eve party from 8-10:30 pm to watch the Times Square ball drop. Afterwards, youth 12 and older are invited stay for an all-night lock-in celebration. The lock-in will finish at 7am. Please call Tylene Cool at 541-304-9074 for more details

Crisis Care Training: January 6-7, 2017, at Westin La Paloma in Tucson. Presented by Adventist Community Services/North American Division, this workshop focuses on assisting individuals in crisis. Registration fee of $50 covers course materials, certificate of completion and Continuing Education Units from the University of Maryland. Sabbath worship and luncheon also included. Instructor is Desert Valley member Martin Feldbush, Crisis Care Coordinator/Ed-ucator for ACS/NAD. Contact him at 520-777-8444 or [email protected] for more information.

The Evidence Series: February 25 & March 4 we will be having a short intense series of meetings specifically designed to deal with the Big Questions the public has that keeps them away from God. Issues such as Creation/Evolution will be dealt with in an attempt to both use your brain, and understand what God’s word has to say on the subject.

Pathfinder’s Spaghetti Feed: Come support our Pathfinder troop on January 28 at 6:30 pm as they host an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner.

Cactusville Reveal: a program for the NAD, will take place on Friday, January 6th. Any and all volunteers are needed and would be appreciated. Please con-tact Pastor Gisella Montana at your earliest convenience.
