Prayer at the AltarHere at First Friends, God works through prayer. We offer different opportunities for prayer at our altar each Sunday. During our musical worship, if you would like to come and pray at the altar in private, we invite you to come to the left side by our cross. If you would like one of our Prayer Team to pray with you, please come to the opposite side (right) of the altar. We will also continue to offer prayer at the end of each service.

Welcome to worship at First Friends!

Today we will be focusing our worship on the identity of God as expressed in some of the Hebrew names for Him in the Bible. The Scripture is the record of God revealing Himself to His people, culminating in the person of Jesus Christ. As we grow in our knowledge of who God is we will then experience His love and power in greater dimensions.

Today we will also be celebrating the death and resurrection of Christ in the Lord’s Supper together and the public profession of faith with the following spiritual family members:

Chad and Eva Frank – Reliant (H2O Campus Churches Network)

The Franks are staying in Kent this summer (rather than helping with the Leadership Training Program in Colorado as they sometimes do). Chad naively imagined a laid-back and restful time. So far that hasn’t been the case! Their own 3 children are involved in summer camps; and new ministry opportunities keep popping up since they are continuing their ministry efforts by teaming up H2O Kent and H2O Akron throughout the summer. Pray for fruitfulness from this collaborative effort!

The most encouraging thing about this summer is that the H2O Network is expanding again! This summer two different teams are moving to two different locations to plant two new H2O churches! It’s too good to be true! H2O Indiana and H2O Western Michigan will officially be on their respective campuses as of this coming fall semester. In summer 2008, there was only one H2O in Bowling Green, OH. But in 10 years’ time, God has multiplied from one church to 12 (10 in the mid-west and two in Texas and Florida)! Chad is truly humbled and honored to play a small part in what God is doing in the lives of tomorrow’s leaders as they seek to bring His church to the campuses of today. He is thankful for all financial and prayer partners for being a BIG part of making it happen! Praise God for doing more than we could ask or imagine!

Congratulations Pastor Stan & Betsy!The Elders are excited to share that at our Congregational Meeting we voted to extend Pastor Stan’s a 3-year call as our Lead Pastor! It was an overwhelming affirmative vote. We are so thankful for Pastor Stan’s service and love for our church. We appreciate and love you both!

5th Sunday ReminderToday, July 29th, is the fifth Sunday. Elementary children will be worshiping with their families. There will be no Sunday School or Children's Church for elementary children. If parents participate in Connect Groups children may join the class in E-110 at 9:00 am.

Children's Ministry - Christian Education Team 2018-2019 The new year is just around the corner. Would you be willing to help teach or assist a class and help our children learn about Jesus? Begin to pray and ask Jesus if you're being called to this wonderful opportunity. Check out the insert in your bulletin for specific opportunities. If you have questions or are ready to say yes - contact Tammy Forsythe at 330-966-2800.

Parents If you have a child/children in one of our nurseries, please leave your phone number with us when you drop them off. We will then add you to our Mobile Text Alert System. If we would need you for any reason we could then send you a text message.

Safety DoorsOur safety doors close 10 minutes after each service has started, opening again at the end of each service. If you would need to go to your child's classroom before the service has ended please go to the Welcome Center for assistance.
