TO PITTSBURGH!WELCOME
I’m so glad to be spending the day getting to know you at YSC’s Regional Symoposium! This is YSC’s first conference in the Keystone State, and we’re super excited to be here.
There’s a word you’re going to hear a lot today: resilience. What does that mean, exactly? Resilience is defined, officially, as our ability to recover from difficulties. Some people call it “bouncing back” or “toughness” or “grit.” Whatever you call it, it’s a quality that can help you a lot whether you are a co-survivor, in-treatment, post-treatment or living with metastatic breast cancer.
We’ve gathered together an incredible roster of inspiring speakers, who will explore important topics like finances and healthcare, emotional and physical wellness, relationships and special topics just for co-survivors. After a full day of learning and connecting with peers, we’ll let loose with a dinner and dance party to celebrate you!
It’s our hope that today you learn something new, make a new friend and feel the power of the YSC community. And, whether you’re a survivor or co- survivor, we hope today serves as an important reminder that you are not alone in this experience.

YSC Face 2 Face (F2F) networks provide an opportunity for young women diagnosed with breast cancer to meet in person in their local communities. Find a list of current F2Fs below. If you don’t see one in your area, find out how you can start an F2F in your community at youngsurvival.org/ysc-f2f.
YSC State Leaders are volunteer advocates who represent YSC and act as a link between local communities and the YSC Regional Field Staff. They help identify local and state-wide resources for young women affected by breast cancer, and they provide outreach and education throughout their state.
