ST. JOHN’S PLAYGROUND IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE SEEKING VOLUNTEERSWe are ready to begin Phase I of improving our campus/grounds to offer more outdoor activities for our students to be able to use during recess and also as outdoor learning opportunities. This project will benefit our students by allowing them to be more physically active in different ways and exploring their creativity through music, theater and art. Some of the labor involved in Phase I of this project will include mulching, building a 9-Square in the Air game, construction of an outdoor stage, creating an outdoor musical garden and some painting game boards on picnic tables. Applicants should be excited to lead the ongoing development and implementation of a developmentally appropriate preschool program for young children, approved on an annual basis by the Ohio Department of Education standards. QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Early Childhood Education). Maintain 10 educational in-service hours per school year. (30 per year if degree is outside early childhood).Current in First Aid/CPR, Communicable Disease and Child Abuse Classes.Current in “Protecting God’s Children” seminar on Virtus and FBI/BCI fingerprinting. Demonstrates high personal integrity and positive leadership qualities.A practicing Catholic/Christian, willing to pursue ongoing personal faith development.Ability to effectively communicate with parents, teachers, superiors, children and all Parish Staff.

ROAR VBSDelphos St. John’s invites children to Roar VBS: Life is wild, God is Good. The “Mane” event starts Monday, June 24 through Thursday, June 27, at 6:00-8:30 p.m., at church. VBS is open to children age 3 (fully potty-trained) to 6th Grade. Kids will discover that God is good even when life gets wild! The week includes Bible-learning activities, incredible music, creative games, super-fun snacks, amazing experiments and a chance to make new friends! A $10.00 donation per child/$30.00 family max is suggested and will be collected at VBS. We will also be collecting money to support Catholic Relief Services in their efforts to help families around the world have access to clean water. FAMILY PROMISEThe Delphos Ministerial Association will once again be hosting Family Promise guests at Trinity United Methodist Church in 2019. We will welcome the guests the weeks of June 23, 2019, and November 10, 2019. We are always in need of volunteers to bring a meal (5:00 p.m., weekdays, 8:00 a.m.,
12:00 p.m.; and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday); provide fellowship (5:00-8:00 p.m. on weekdays; Saturday, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., 12:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m., and 4:00-8:00 p.m.); and spend the night (8:00 p.m.-6:30 a.m., Sunday through Saturday). ALUMNI CROSS COUNTRY 5K RACE/WALK AND MEET THE TEAMOur high school Cross Country Coach Steve Hellman is inviting all former Blue Jay Cross Country runners and their families to come out to his house on Friday, August 2, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. for the annual alumni race. He will also have out for viewing old Cross Country race results for every year from when the boys program started in 1972, and the girls program that started in 1981. Starting at 7:00 p.m., he will be introducing the alumni and the 2019 junior high and high school teams. The 5K race will follow for the alumni.
