Success ClubEach Friday, students have the opportunity to participate in Success Club.

Success Club includes a choice of an activity, such as games, art, or computer. Students who have not earned Success Club will go to Study Hall.

Students earn Success Club by:• Completing and turning in all homework• Completing and turning in all class work• Acceptable behavior for the week

Homework Binders• Goes to and from school daily

• Agenda– updated daily and online

• Hard Copies of the homework

• Responsibility Chart for each quarter

• Home – papers that may be kept at home

• School – items to be returned to school

• Daily Assignment (Mon-Thurs) – Spelling (due Fri), Math (2 nights), Reading Vocabulary & Comprehension

• Reading 60 minutes per week (Book Bags)

• Reading Response – twice a week in Response Journal

•Success Club or Study Hall

• CELEBRATE – each quarter

Classroom Behavior • Give Me Five Point System - handprints

• Students begin each day with 10 points

• Warnings/redirects will always be given

• Pull handprint, owe 5 minutes for each offense

• Points recorded on daily behavior chart

•Need a total of 35 points per week to attend Success Club

Book Bags• Bag, Book, and Reading Response Journal

• To and From School Nightly

• Read same book at home and at school – chapter book, nonfiction, picture book, etc.

• 60 minutes per week (includes weekends)

•Two reading response journals per week

•Read Your Way to a Sundae (read a minimum of 5 chapter books this year)

Math Matters• I absolutely teaching math!

• Strategies versus algorithms

• Addition and subtraction facts through December

• Multiplication/Division begin earlier in year

• January multiplication timed testing begins

• Never assign anything for homework I haven’t taught

• Dreambox, and other math websites
