Each student must meet the following requirements: --No missing assignments, 2 or above in Smart book, no more than two problem reports, must follow school rules, good citizenship.Homework and Projects HomeworkYour student will be expected to read a minimum of 20 minutes during the weekday. Research shows that students who read perform better on tests, are better writers, and higher-level thinkers. It makes sense to read. Reading will be tracked on his/her daily planner. Also, look for a quick homework sheet each night to reinforce the skills taught at school. I expect homework to be turned in on time!!! I will accept late homework up to a week after it is due, but 10% of the points will be deducted for every day it is late.

If you have a reading book that you have started, bring it to school. Currently, we do not have a classroom library; it is a work in progress. Also, we will not have an opportunity to go to the library the first week of school as a class. You may have to make a visit there before or after school to check out a book. Everyone needs a silent reading book, so please do what you can to get one. Silent Reading BookEvery child deserves a champion an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.Rita Pierson
