Six-Day Cycle and Class LoadJH schedule uses a six-day cycle with 8 possible instructional periods per day.You must select activities which will fill 41 or more periods out of the possible 48 each cycle.

Promotion PolicyIn order to be promoted to the next grade, you must pass the following minimum number of credits, accumulating them as follows:9th Grade – 5.5 credits = 5.5 credits10th Grade – 6 credits = 11.5 credits11th Grade – 6 credits = 17.5 credits12th Grade – 6.5 credits = 24 credits

Honors CoursesStudents taking honors courses should have a high interest in the subject as well as strong reading, writing, and study skills.Honors courses cover same topics as academic courses but in greater detail.We recommend that a student take no more than two honors courses.

THREE-DIMENSIONAL DESIGN (3 Periods - .5 credit)The elements of Art and Design will be developed using clay,
paper, metal, wood, and fibers. Emphasis is placed on quality design and craftsmanship. Knowledge of materials, use of tools/equipment, and techniques will be taught. Historical research of artists, styles and techniques is included.
Reminders for 16-17Keystone Exams: EOCA designed by the state, part of PA’s system of HS graduation requirements (pending current legislation).The Class of 2020 must demonstrate proficiency on the Algebra I, Biology, and Literature Keystone exams (pending current legislation).Most ninth graders will take the Algebra I Keystone exam at the end of next year.
