Prayer Changes Things!

UPCOMING

International Day of Prayer for Peace (September 21) . . . The International Day of Prayer for Peace is a time to reflect on the importance of upholding peace among

people and across nations.

A peaceful society is one where justice, equality and security are available to everyone. To achieve this, people everywhere need to have the opportunity for economic and social development. That is why PWS&D is working in some of the most vulnerable and marginalized countries around the world to help families overcome poverty, hunger and oppression by promoting health, education, gender equality, sanitation, protection of the environment and social justice. While peace will enable a compassionate world to take shape, a sustainable environment will also further peace.

PWS&D Promotes Sustainable Development For Peace.

A Message from the Interim Moderator, The Rev. Jennifer Cameron

Greetings in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. For those who do not know me, I have been the Minister at St. Columba Church in Belleville for the past 13 of my 23 years of ordained ministry within the Presbyterian Church in Canada. I am pleased to be working with the Session as we discern the path God has placed before St. Andrew’s. A quick update on the vacancy process:

The pulpit has been declared vacant after the departure of the

Rev. Luke Vanderkamp

Pulpit supply has been arranged until the end of December

with a variety of preachers

The Session has resolved to create a small team to conduct a

Ministry Needs Assessment of the congregation. This will

involve congregational input.

When the Needs Assessment Team has completed its work, a

vacancy team will be appointed to take the next steps to begin

the search for a new Minister

Pastoral care will be provided by the Elders. If there is a

pastoral emergency, please contact the Clerk of Session who

will be my main contact with the congregation.

As the process moves forward, various resources will be

consulted to help us make the best decisions for the

congregation. These may include speaking with

denominational leaders with particular expertise in specific

areas.

Please do not hesitate to direct any questions to the Session for response. I look forward to seeing what the Lord has planned for St. Andrew’s, and pray for wisdom as we discern God’s way together.
