Adam LevinAdam K. Levin is a consumer advocate with more than 30 years of experience and is a nationally recognized expert on security, privacy, identity theft, fraud, and personal finance. Ramon Lopez, Assistant Vice President, USAARamon Lopez is the Assistant Vice President of Claims Policy, Performance and Programs in the P&C Insurance Performance Management organization. As the Process Owner for Claims, he and his team have the privileged responsibility to develop and enhance policy, monitor performance and oversee auto and property programs for USAA's 5,300 Claims Adjusters who are responsible for over $10B in claims payments annually.

Ramon has served USAA members in various operational claim functions during his tenure with USAA. He began his career in 2003 as a claims representative and worked through a variety of adjuster levels handling liability, property and casualty claims. In May 2010, he was promoted to Claims Service Director where he led various teams who served members with auto and property losses. In 2012, Ramon was promoted to Executive Director over USAA Catastrophe Operations where he led the enterprise response to catastrophes worldwide to include our largest volume event in our history, Super Storm Sandy. Through March of 2016 he was the auto claims process owner responsible for policy enhancement, claims performance and claims programs for over 2,800 auto adjusters.

During his free time, Ramon enjoys spending time with his wife, Danielle and two kids, Patience and Sawyer. At 5:30 am most mornings, you can find Ramon at a Crossfit box, doing all he can to get through the workout of the day (WOD).

Robert Peterson, the Director of the Center For Insurance Law & Regulation; Santa Clara University School of Law

Robert W. Peterson is a Professor of Law and the University of Santa Clara School of Law. He teaches Torts, Insurance Law and Regulation, Evidence and Products Liability, among other courses. He is a past Chair of the California State Bar Standing Committee on Insurance Law and is Director of the Law School’s Center for Insurance Law and Regulation. Additional interests include Shakespeare and the Law.

He received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from San Diego State University (then “College”) in 1963, his law degree from Stanford University in 1966, and a Diploma in Law from Oxford University in 1977. He also clerked for United States District Court Judge Robert F. Peckham. Prior to joining the faculty at Santa Clara in 1970 he taught at the University of Illinois and Wayne State University in Detroit.

He has written on some of the insurance issues arising from the development of autonomous vehicles. Robert W. Adam Pichon is Vice President, Product Management, Insurance, for LexisNexis® Risk Solutions. Pichon has been with LexisNexis since 2014 and leads the Credit & Analytic Products teams. He brings significant insurance industry experience, including product management and predictive modeling roles at auto insurance carriers, and work on the vendor side developing and managing new solutions for the property and casualty insurance market.

Adam has a master’s degree in Economics with an Econometrics focus, from the University of Illinois.

Kathy Suhm, CPCUVice President of Training & Development, Nautilus Insurance Group

Kathy Suhm is the Vice President of Underwriting Training & Development at Nautilus Insurance Group. Nautilus is an Excess and Surplus Lines market located in Scottsdale, AZ and is a W.R. Berkley Company. During her insurance career Kathy has held a number of underwriting, operations and reinsurance positions in both the standard lines and surplus lines market. Kathy holds the CPCU, SPHR, ASLI, AIC, AIM, AIS, AMIM, Are, ARM, ARM-P, ARP and the ERM designations.

Venessa J. Bragg, Esq. Elardo, Bragg & Rossi, P.C.

Venessa Bragg graduated magna cum laude with honors from Arizona State University and the Barrett Honors College in May 2003. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Ms. Bragg studied abroad in France, as well as the United Kingdom and Ireland. She received her juris doctorate in only 2 ½ years from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in December 2007. She was nominated by her peers to be the law school graduation speaker. Her practice focuses on personal and commercial liability litigation, including transportation, premises and products, construction defect, dram shop, bad faith, breach of contract, and professional malpractice. Ms. Bragg has handled numerous trials across the State of Arizona, as well as hundreds of depositions and arbitrations. Notably, Ms. Bragg collaborated with her partner, John Elardo, in the prosecution of a RICO fraud trial resulting in a $33 million dollar verdict on behalf of their corporate client. Ms. Bragg, along with Mr. Elardo, was a Top 10 Arizona Verdict winner of 2008 and holds the 17th position in the decade’s top 100 verdicts. She has also been involved in numerous cases in the Court of Appeals including the reported case of Newman v. Cornerstone.

Brett L. Clausen, CPCU, CIC, CLSSBBArizona Business Unit Vice President, Farm Bureau Financial ServicesBrett L. Clausen is the Arizona Business Unit Vice President for Farm Bureau Financial Services, where he started work as an adjuster in 1990. He also currently serves as immediate past president of the Arizona CPCU Society Chapter; is vice president of the Professional Experience Resource Group of the CPCU Society, is a board member and secretary of the Arizona Insurance Institute, a member of the Arizona Insurance Claims Association and a member of the National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research; and has served on several advisory committees for insurance-related companies. Clausen has completed Lean Six Sigma Champions training and is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He has a master's degree from Boston University and holds the CPCU®, AIC™, AIS™, API™, ARe™, AU™ and CIC designations.

Lamont D. Boyd, CPCUInsurance Market Director, Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO)Lamont D. Boyd is insurance market director, scores and analytics, for Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO). Working with clients throughout the United States and internationally, he speaks regularly to industry and consumer groups. Prior to joining FICO in 1993, Boyd served 19 years in underwriting, product management and sales management with a major property and casualty insurer. He has held national leadership roles with the CPCU Society and currently chairs the CPCU Society’s Underwriting Interest Group and is a member of the Society’s Loman Student Engagement Committee. Lamont is also chair of the Arizona Chapter’s Career, Candidate, Student Development and Interest Group Committees, as well as a founding member of the Arizona Insurance Institute’s Workforce Development Committee. Lamont is the past recipient of the Arizona Chapter’s “Light the Way” award, recent recipient of the Society’s “Leadership” award, and was just named one of Best Review’s “Key Industry Influencers”.

Michael Koscielny, CPCU CIC ARe AIC API AINSPresident-Elect of the CPCU Society

Michael has been the Director of Underwriting at Florida Peninsula Insurance Company, Boca Raton, Florida, since February 24, 2014. Previously Assistant Vice President, Property & Casualty Underwriting at American Modern Insurance Group, Cincinnati, Ohio and Corporate Underwriting at MunichRe America, Princeton, New Jersey from 2006 until 2014.

Past positions include five years as Director of Regional Underwriting Operations at the Auto Club Insurance Association, Dearborn, Michigan (known as AAA Michigan), 3 years with Kemper Insurance Personal Lines as the Regional President of the Central Region, Chicago, Illinois and 20 years with SAFECO Insurance Company, in Chicago, Illinois and Cincinnati, Ohio, in roles as underwriter, underwriting manager, field marketing rep (personal and commercial), branch marketing manager, and regional underwriting manager. He has more than 35 years’ experience in the insurance industry and is a licensed insurance agent in the state of Florida.

Michael received the Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1996, and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1991. Insurance designations include: AINS, API, AIC and ARe. Bachelor’s Degree in 1980, Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.

He is the President-Elect of the CPCU Society, January 2016. Served as a member of the National Society of CPCU’s Leadership Council, Leadership Council Liaison to the Loman Advisory Committee and Secretary/Treasurer of the Underwriting Executives Council. He has also served as board member of Insuring the Children (the industry charity in Cincinnati), Chapter Governor National Society of CPCU, Chair of the Champions Advisory Committee, Past President of the Cincinnati Chapter of CPCU, Board Member of the Northwest Suburban Chicago Chapter of CPCU, CPCU Instructor for the Insurance School of Chicago, and Past President of the Central Michigan Underwriters Association.
