1 Mission Statement Jesus serves as a lector in the Synagogue today while reading from the Prophet Isaiah. The particular passage he read describes his mission. The Spirit of the Lord is upon him. He is anointed to bring glad tidings to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives, to make the blind see, to free the imprisoned, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord. He has begun his public ministry and this passage from the Prophet acts as his mission statement. Although we do not all serve as lectors, we still have a mission. Ours is that of Christ. Notice in the Bulletin that our mission statement here at SEAS sums up the mission of Jesus Christ. “As a diverse and welcoming Catholic community, we are dedicated to continue the mission of Jesus Christ through sincere worship, service and education.” A few years before my time here the Pastoral Council came up with this summary of Jesus’ mission. Jesus’ worship in the synagogue we imitate at mass. His feeding the poor we imitate in our service. His teaching the ignorant we continue through our RE programs. All this we do to continue the mission of the Lord because the Spirit of the Lord is upon us as well. Trust in the Lord and his mission today. Take some time to reflect on our mission statement and think about how you can live each of those three main point in your life so that you might imitate Jesus in worship, service and education as a Catholic community. Mission Statement
Jesus serves as a lector in the Synagogue

You may be aware that we are conducting a comprehensive survey of the entire parish. The purpose of the
survey is to help gauge support for the following projects:
Constructing new classrooms and a fellowship hall
Coonstructing a multi-purpose space to house parish offices, St. Vincent DePaul distribution center and
a day chapel
Expanding the church
I would like to thank everyone who has already participated in the study. Your thoughts are extremely valuable
to us during this planning process. I encourage everyone that has not responded to do so. Your input will help
us make an informed decision regarding our long-range plans for Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
We are hopeful to have all surveys completed by February 3, 2016. You may return your survey to the office
or place it in the Offertory basket at any of the Masses.

Como ustedes se habrán dado cuenta, estamos llevando a cabo un estudio exhaustivo en la pa-
rroquia. El propósito de la encuesta es para ayudarnos a conocer el apoyo con el que contamos para los
siguientes proyectos:
La construcción de nuevas aulas y una sala comunitaria.
La construcción de un espacio multiuso para albergar oficinas parroquiales, centro de distribución de San
Vicente de Paul y una capilla.
La ampliación de la iglesia.
Me gustaría dar las gracias a todos los que ya han participado en el estudio. Sus pensamientos son muy
valiosos para nosotros durante este proceso de planificación. Les invito a todos los que no ha respondido la

St. Edward parish is proud to be hosting a free spiritual music concert by internationally
