What are we going to learn?
• Typing• Computer components and terms• Computer ethics• Online safety and usage• Microsoft Word• Microsoft Excel (Spreadsheets)• Microsoft PowerPoint• Microsoft Access (Databases)
Materials
Every day you must have:
•A good attitude
• 2 pocket folder with prongs
•Notebook paper
•A writing utensil
Class Fee
• You are required to pay a $20.00 computer lab fee.
• Please bring this fee in as soon as possible.• This fee covers:– Printer toner/ink– Printer Paper– Computer program supplies
• This fee does not cover the jump drives I will be allowing you to use.
Assignments and Grading
• The majority of the work you will do in here is projects. You will receive a checklist or rubric on how your project will be graded at the beginning of the project.
• We will be taking some tests.• To receive high school credit, you must pass
all four quarters.
Grading• Assignments will have a due date. You are
responsible for getting your assignment completed by the due date.
• Late assignments will result in loss of points
Computer Lab Rules
1. Sit at assigned computer only2. Accept responsibility for individual workstation3. No food or drinks in the lab at any time.4. No Gum5. Leave the room neat and orderly6. Never use the Internet without permission7. Never load or download any outside software or outside
information to the computer8. Do not use the computer for personal reasons or for checking
email or going into “chat” rooms, Myspace, Facebook,or other blocked sites.
9. Report all computer problems to the instructor immediately.

Computer Lab Procedures
Backpacks
• Due to limited storage, all backpacks, purses, and bags need to be placed UNDER your chair.
• Please do not place them in the chair next you you.
When you walk in the room….
• Go to your computer• Read the board to see what we are doing• Follow any directions written on the board
When you leave the room…
• Save your work to a jump drive• Close out of any programs that my be open• Throw away any trash that is sitting next to
your workstation• Push your chair in
Tardiness
• Excused Tardy: You have a pass• Unexcused Tardy: You have entered the
classroom after me and you do not have a pass
• After every 3rd unexcused tardy, you will receive an after school detention from me.
• Do not interrupt the class to tell me why you were late, we will talk after I have finished giving directions.
Please do not….
• Ask for a pass to go to the office, restroom, to leave the room, or any other reason.
• Stand in the hallway before class• Walk past my class and come back late• Ask me “What are we doing today?”
