Join the event to discuss London’s cultural and creative industry recovery, highlighting the history of London’s iconic venues and nightlife, as well as the importance of a green recovery that tackles air quality and everyone’s exposure to harmful pollutants. CRP will also be showcasing the Illuminated River project, which is an inspiration for lighting London sustainably as well as a COVID-friendly, outdoor cultural installation. Clean Air Villages - What has the team been up to? The CRP Clean Air Villages (CAV) team has been busy engaging with communities& businesses and implementing solutions in all 16 villages. Across London, theCAV team has contacted over 235 businesses to offer support and help find newsolutions for their current challenges.

The Air Quality Ambassador Programme with City of London Corporation haslaunched and is already recruiting ambassadors, with the first workshop in the nextfew weeks to train those who have signed up! CRP have launched cargo bike trials inDeptford (London Borough of Lewisham), Wimbledon (London Borough ofMerton), Tooting (London Borough of Wandsworth) and Richmond (LondonBorough of Richmond upon Thames), with businesses taking advantage of freehours to have cleaner local deliveries. CRP have also completed the monitoring of15 Clean Air Walking routes and current transport levels in the air quality hot spotsare being understood via Vivacity cameras.

Look out for the new Healthy Street Everyday GuidanceDocument on Mobility Justice The transition to environmentally sustainable and socially just mobilities placesemphasis on improving inclusion and access to transport for everyone. However, inorder to make our transport and mobilities more inclusive, it is important tounderstand the challenges experienced by those that face mobility and transportinjustice.

CRP's Healthy Streets Everyday (HSE) Programme is pleased to announce anupcoming Guidance Document that will explore several stories of mobility (in)justicefaced by individuals with a disability or mobility impairment. By providing a voice tothe everyday experiences of these individuals, we hope to raise awareness of thevariety of considerations that need to be taken in order to make transport andmobility truly accessible for everyone. CRP and its partners are extremely grateful tothe Mayor’s Air Quality Fund for making this Guidance Document possible.

Helping London to choose Clean Air RoutesLast month we announced CRP's exciting collaboration with environmentaldata collective Tranquil City to map 15 new Clean Air Routes in London as part ofthe Defra-funded Clean Air Villages project.

13 out of 14 teaching hospitals in Greater London have levels of PM2.5 above theWHO’s recommended limit, according to a report by the British LungFoundation. Five of the new Clean Air Routes have been developed to supportpatients and staff to reduce their exposure to air pollution when getting to and fromhospitals around London. This includes one of the biggest children’s hospitals in thecountry, Great Ormond Street Hospital (London Borough of Camden), as wellas major NHS teaching hospitals, St. George’s in Tooting (London Borough ofWandsworth), St. Thomas’ near Waterloo (London Borough of Lambeth), and King’sCollege Hospital in Denmark Hill (London Borough of Lambeth).

Deptford's CRP Clean Air Villages cargo bike trial It has now been 8 weeks since the resumption of CRP's cargo bike trial in Deptford,one of the many solutions implemented as part of CRP's Clean Air Villages project.The partnership in Deptford with London Borough of Lewisham, and cargo bikecouriers ecofleet, has enabled two brilliant businesses to regular use the cargo biketo deliver to customers and businesses in South London, as well as collect stock.

The cargo bike trial is continuing in Deptford and CRP are still keen for businesses tohave a go at making their deliveries and collections in the local area. Lai Loi andLomond Coffee are currently using the cargo bike service! If you would like to knowmore or take part in the trial, please email CRP Project Officer Ross Phillips.

The Ultra Low Emission Zone is expanding from 25thOctober 2021. Have you checked your vehicle? Air pollution is not just a central London problem, with many areas still exceeding thelegal limits for pollution across the city. That is why from 25th October 2021,the central London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) is expanding to createa single, larger zone up to the North Circular Road (A406) and South Circular Road(A205). The North and South Circular Roads themselves are not in the zone. This ispart of the commitment by the Mayor and TfL to help every Londoner breathe cleanerair.

analyst Akyaaba Addai-Sebo, who had worked as a co-ordinater of special projectsfor the Greater London Council. Black History Month has never been more relevantthan in 2020. CRP's accountable body Westminster City Council have beencelebrating Black History Month with a programme of virtual events, including a TheWCC Archives and Black History Studies and The Cultural Book Club. Black Historyshould be celebrated this month, and every month.

Business Energy Efficiency Survey The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and his team at City Hall want to work withbusinesses to help deliver a green recovery from this pandemic and make London azero carbon city. London’s commercial and industrial buildings make up 36% ofLondon’s carbon footprint, or around 11 million tonnes of greenhouse gases. Tocreate the future we want, we’re going to need to work together to bring that numberright down. The Mayor of London wants to help businesses reduce energy consumption in yourbuildings, which will lower the impact on the environment and save you money, andhave a transformative effect on the capital. In less than ten minutes, help usunderstand how we can tackle this climate emergency together: Take the surveynow, before it closes on 13th November.

World Cities Day World Cities Day was established by the United Nations in 2014. The day, whichtakes place annually on 31st October, aims to promote international communityinterest to address challenges on the role of urbanisation and mutually providingsolutions to sustainable urban development worldwide.

In order to build back better as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CRP Boardagreed at it's meeting on 25th September to commission a study looking at the futureroles for London’s Centres. This work will further complement the studies publishedby Centre for London and commissioned by the Mayor of London. CRP looks forwardto publishing the results of the study in the future when available.

GLA Green Skills - Borough survey 2020 London’s recovery from the pandemic is being led by the London Recovery Board,chaired jointly by the Mayor of London and the Chair of London Councils. As part ofthis work, the GLA is looking into developing the skills training offer in greenindustries in the capital. This will involve engaging with businesses, skills providersand boroughs to understand the specific skills, accreditations, entry pathways andtraining courses needed.
