Janani Surakshya Yojana (JSY)
This scheme is implemented from 1st April 2007 at
Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
Financial benefit under the Scheme
Urban - Rs. 1000/-
Rural – Rs. 1400/-
Initially the average beneficiaries was 533, presently it is
gone up to 836.
Spot payment ensured during discharge of the patients
Janani Shishu Surakshya Karyakrama (JSSK)
• It has been effective from 1st November 2011
• All the delivery patients are getting Cashless benefits through this scheme.
• Drugs and consumables are also provided to sick newborn till 30 days after
birth.
• All the beneficiaries are getting medicines, consumables, diet &
investigations in free of cost.
• Also Blood units are provided to needy patients.
• In November- 99 units of blood is supplied from Blood bank for the
patients coming under JSSK & in December-101 units, January-70 units.

• It is Running with the support of Govt. of Odisha, NRHM
& UNICEF
• Total admission – 2152 (Between March 2009 to January
2012)
• 1st November 2011 onwards it is free for the sick new
born child under JSSK.

Community Participation through ASHA
• ASHA plays a major role in community participation.
• She brings pregnant ladies from peripheral areas to capital
hospital & also stay with her till the completion of her treatment.
• ASHA Gruha (ASHA Rest Shed) - Capital Hospital has provided a
room for those ASHAs who accompany the patient
• For management of ASHA Rest Shed 4 ASHAs have been engaged

• In Urban slum of BMC area 120 ASHAs are in positioned and
getting incentives for facilitating following Health activities:
– JSY – Rs. 200 per case
– Immunization – Rs. 150 per case
– Motivation for Male Sterilization – Rs. 200 per case
– Motivation for Female Sterilization – Rs. 150 per case
– Attending training programme – Rs. 100 per day
– Pulse Polio Programme – Rs. 75 per day

• There are two ICTC are functioning in Capital Hospital .
• ICTC-I is functioning from 2002 & ICTC-II is functioning from
2006.
