Welcome To FPMA In Paradise! I encourage you to pencil in June 20-24 because this is one summer conference not to be missed! Paradise is calling at the beautiful South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island. As with EXPO, networking opportunities will be plentiful, however the dress will never be more formal that your favorite shorts and flip flops. Learn team build-ing strategies to take back to your offices while enjoying the company of other like-minded Florida PMPs. Get your CEUs like never before with a combination of classroom and hands on instruction. Bring your kids and let them get in on the action of helping you team take First Place. Take your customers or significant other (or both!) to the Sunset Cocktail Cruise & Beach Bash. Get a jumpstart on your day with “Rise & Shine,” Boot Camp or Beach Yoga and earn points for your team while you get fit. I am so excited with all this conference has to offer
that I ask you to make your hotel reservations and register by May 13th. FYI: Space for the Sunset Cruise is limited and will fill up quickly.
See You In Paradise!Anne-Marie

For 65 years, the Florida Pest Management Association has been representing pest management professionals throughout our great state. We should all be proud of this great profession and our association. It‘s an honor for me to represent you as FPMA’s 64th president. As summertime draws closer so does our annual summer conference.
For many of us, the approach of summer means the kids will be getting out of school and vacation time is around the corner. Summer also means that our annual summer conference is right around the corner, and this year FPMA in Paradise is sure to please. For the 2011 summer conference, I pledge to continue to build on your association’s 65-year tradition of service to your business, your family and the industry overall. The pest manage-ment industry consists primarily of family- owned businesses that have been passed from generation to genera-
tion. FPMA is very focused on reaching out to the various generations that manage companies in the industry. And, FPMA in Paradise has traditionally been the forum by which we all come together and reminisce about the past and learn vital information to take the next genera-tion into the future. The fact that so many companies are family owned and operated says something special about our industry. It says that we have what it takes to withstand the tests of time and that this industry is effective in developing future leaders to keep tradition moving forward. The FPMA is willing and able to assist in any way to keep the “generational” nature of our industry alive and well for many genera-tions to come. I still remember my first summer conference and bug camp at the age of 6. Those memories and friendships will last a lifetime and now it’s my pleasure to be your president as my kids attend bug camp.
No matter what your age or position within your company there’s something for you at FPMA in Paradise. FPMA in Paradise will pres-ent innovative new ways to learn during our team oriented leadership sessions, new ways to connect with old friends at the launch party and family fun night, networking at the Sunset Cruise and Beach Bash and new ways to grow your business at the Exhibit Happy Hour Product and Service Showcase. As part of our team building concept our Rise and Shine sessions are sure to please. Also, please plan on attending our first annual charity 5K and fun run to benefit the forming of the Florida Pest Management Foundation.
One thing to remember is that innovation, fellowship and success don’t start with companies; they start with people- personally and professionally. That means you! Be sure to register before June 1st to take advantage of early bird pricing.
Let me say again thank you, and I look forward to seeing you in Captiva in June as we continue to STRIVE FOR SUCCESS!
P.S. Don’t forget to book your hotel room at the South Seas Island Resort. They are going quickly but are still available at the negotiated group rate. Please see page 3 for rates and information!
